The Pokémon Go Tales of Transformation season is underway and it’s full of commanding encounters. The Steel Skyline event will offer another powerful debut by shooting Dynamax Duraludon into the spotlight.
The Steel Skyline event will run from September 30, at 10am to October 7, 2025, at 8pm local time.

Here’s a full rundown of what you can expect from the Steel Skyline event.
Dynamax Debut
The following Pokémon will make its Pokémon Go debut in four-star Max Battles:
- Dynamax Duraludon (lucky Trainers may encounter a Shiny)
Global Challenges
Work with Trainers around the world to take on Field Research tasks and complete throwing-based challenges to unlock bonuses. Once a challenge is completed, special bonuses will be unlocked for the remainder of the event and the next challenge will begin.
Level 1 Reward
- Additional Candy for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws
- Increased chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws
Level 2 Rewards
- Additional 5,000 XP from winning raids
Level 3 Rewards
- One guaranteed Rare Candy XL from winning in-person Max Battles
Wild Encounters
The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild, all of which have the chance to be Shiny:
- Alolan Diglett
- Magnemite
- Grimer
- Alolan Grimer
- Porygon
- Aron
- Bronzor
- Trubbish
- Klink
- Axew
- Togedemaru
Some Trainers may even encounter:
- Galarian Meowth
- Skarmory
- Mawile
Max Battles
The Pokémon that will appear in Max Battles all have the chance to spawn as a Shiny:
One-Star Max Battles
- Dynamax Drilbur
- Dynamax Rookidee
Three-Star Max Battles
- Dynamax Beldum
Four-Star Max Battles
- Dynamax Duraludon
Field Research
Complete Field Research tasks to earn encounters with event-themed Pokémon. You may even encounter Dynamax Duraludon, if you’re lucky enough.
Timed Research
Timed Research rewards include:
- One Magnetic Lure Module
- XP
- Stardust
- Encounters with event-themed Pokémon
Paid Timed Research
For US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency,) you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research, awarding:
- Max Particles
- Stardust
- Encounter with Dynamax Duraludon
The tasks tied to Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before October 7, 2025, at 8pm local time.
Steel Skyline Ultra Ticket Box
The Steel Skyline Ultra Ticket Box will be available from the Pokémon Go Web Store for US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency.) It includes an event ticket and three Golden Razz Berries.
