Vatican City is the first major location that players will be able to explore in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and while they try to learn about the whereabouts of the Cat Mummy, there are a lot of hidden things to uncover. One of these discoveries is the Mystery Quest called Secrets of Secrets. This optional mission takes players to the Sistine Chapel and challenges them to figure out a safe combination to get the rewards hidden inside. This guide will show players how to complete the Secret Of Secrets Mystery in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
How to Complete the Secret Of Secrets Mystery in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
The Secret of Secrets Mystery can be found in the Sistine Chapel in the southern part of Vatican City. After getting the Clerical Disguise during the main story mission, you will be able to use the Clerical Key to open doors with stainless glass crosses on them. You will need this to enter the Sistine Chapel. Go to the Belvedere Courtyard at the center of the Vatican and go to the large double doors at the west end of the Courtyard. Go south down the path and then turn left to reach the exterior of the church.
There is a ladder that you can climb that leads up to some scaffolding. At the end of the scaffolding is a wall that you can climb with your whip. Use your whip to reach a small rooftop and then shimmy on the nearby pipes to enter the chapel via a window.
Head back down to the ground floor to find the Clerical door. Pass through the door and go to the west end of the chapel to find another door that leads to a small office. This is where you will be able to complete the Secret of Secrets Mystery. You can start it by picking up one of the Notes that are part of this Mystery. There are a total of 3 Notes related to the quest. Each of these Notes will give you hints on how to complete this Mystery. These Notes can be found in any order. You will know you found a Note tied to a Mystery since it will be labeled as a “Mystery Note.”
The first note is Nicoletti’s Letter, which can be found on a table next to the door you use to enter the room. The Note is from Father Nicoletti telling Father Luis that he has found an original copy of the Secretum Secretorum. This is a great find and would definitely belong in a museum so to get your hands on it, you will need to figure out the code of the safe that is in this room. The code can be figured out by entering a 4-digit code. The Note tells you the code can be solved by looking at a statue of Saint Peter and then Saint Paul.
The Peter statue is in the northeast corner of the room, while the Paul statue is next to the safe behind the desk in the center of the room. Both statues have astronomical symbols at the bottom, which will help you figure out the code for the safe.
Planetary Chart
Open the drawer on the left side of the desk to find the Planetary Chart Note showing the astronomical chart and the planets each symbol corresponds to. This tells you the number that each symbol represents.
On the bottom of the Peter statue are two Mars symbols. You can deduce this as Mars is the only planet on the chart that is smudged and the symbols on the bottom of Peter aren’t seen anywhere else on the chart. telling you that the first two numbers to the safe are both 4. On the bottom of the Paul statue is the Mercury and Uranus symbols but they are both upside down. This means you need to reverse the order of the numbers. This means the last two numbers are 7 and 1. This means the code to the safe is 4-4-7-1.
Inside the safe is the Secretum Secretorum, though it is obviously a fake. Underneath the Forged Book is the final Note for this Mystery, Hidden Note, which sees Nocoletti tell Luis of his plan to gain favor with the Germans with this discovery. Picking up this Note will complete the Secret of Secrets Mystery and will award you 100 Adventure Points.
Also inside the safe is the Cutman I Adventure Book which you can collect and spend Adventure Points on to improve your stats. This book improves heath bar regeneration efficiency and can be unlocked for 250 AP.
