While exploring the icy region of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you can stumble across an old Carousel that has been frozen in place. Players will be asked to get the machine operational again, but doing so might seem impossible. Luckily, there is a way to fix the nostalgic machine, but doing so requires players to unlock a specific ability before they can crack the ice that keeps the carousel frozen in time. This guide will show players how to fix the Carousel in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
How to Fix the Carousel in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
You can find the Carousel in the region east of Monoco’s Station. Go into Monoco’s Station and go through the exit past the area where you battle Monoco to reach this area. Once here, go to the north end of this region to find the Carousel area. You will find a Grandis here asking you to break the ice around the Carousel to get it working again.
To break the ice, you will need to unlock the Paint Break ability. This is a skill that will allow you to break the Blue Rocks found around the world by hitting them with your melee attack. To get this skill, you will need to find 4 of the Lost Gestrals and then go to a Gestral named Sastro found in your camp. After talking to the Gestral, you will be given Paint Break.
Once you have Paint Break, go back to the Carousel and destroy the 3 large ice blocks that are holding the Carousel in place. Once they are all destroyed, the Carousel will start to move again.
Talk to the Grandis when the Carousel is fixed and you will be given the French Bob Haircut for Maelle as a reward. You can edit your characters’ appearances by going into the pause menu, selecting a character, and going over to “Wardrobe.”
