Players can complete many optional side quests in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with several of them being found in the Gestral Village. One of these strange creatures that you can talk to is Karatom, an inventor who is building one of the big machines that you’ve battled on your way to the village. To help Karatom complete this machine, you will need to find a mushroom for him. This guide will show players how to find Karatom’s Mushroom in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
How to Find Karatom’s Mushrooms in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Karatom can be found in the Gestral Village, which is first visited during Act I. Make sure you complete this quest before the end of Act I because it becomes unavailable during Act II and III. Once you enter Gestral Village, head up the slope from the Expedition Flag and stand outside the Chief’s House. Then, turn to the left and pass through the Bazaar. Once on the other side of the vendors, turn left, and you will see a large inactive Ultimate Sakapatate. Standing at the base of the Sakapatate is a small Gestral named Karatom. Talk to him to start his quest. He will ask you to find a mushroom to complete his creation.
To find Karatom’s mushroom, you will need to go to Esquie’s Nest, found to the east of the Gestral Village. Once here, go past the Expedition Flag and into the cave. Once you reach a large opening in the cave, turn right and look down into the area below. You can find the Mushroom in this area to the left of the Mime enemy.
Return to the Gestral Village and talk to Karatom to give him the mushroom. After a short dialogue scene, you will be forced to fight the Ultimate Sakapatate.
This battle is the same as the one you fight at the end of the Ancient Sanctuary area but you are forced to fight it just as Gustave. You can check out Gameranx’s guide on the Ultimate Sakapatate boss fight here.
When you defeat the Sakapatate, you will complete Karatom’s quest and you will be give the Pure Outfit for Gustave.
