So, allow me to break down how to battle this giant. This guide will show players how to beat the Goblu boss fight in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
How to Beat the Goblu Boss Fight in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Goblu is the boss at the end of the Flying Waters area. When you reach this fight, your party will consist of Gustave, Lune, and Maelle. The boss starts with two Shields that you will need to break before dealing damage. The boss also has a very limited moveset with only two primary attacks. One is a jumping attack where Goblu will jump, hang in the air for a bit, and then quickly drop down for a big slam that targets your entire party. Even though you just learned the Jump mechanic when you recruited Maelle, this attack can be avoided by parrying or dodging. Parrying this attack will see the entirety of Expedition 33 attack the boss, dealing massive damage and Break damage. The other attack is a short two-swipe combo that targets a single party member. This is an easy combo to parry so use it as a chance to get good damage.

The other attack that Goblu isn’t really an attack but instead sees the boss summon a field of flowers. After a turn, these flowers will bloom and give the boss a buff. Red flowers will give Goblu a power boost while blue flowers give Shield. You can stop these flowers from blooming by shooting them with a Free Aim shot.

Goblu has no immunity or resistance but is weak to electricity, so equip any Lightning-infused weapons and use Lune’s Thunderfall to deal massive damage. Have Gustave build his Overcharge gauge and Mark the boss with the Marking Shot skill to get massive damage out of Maelle’s Piercee attack. Once the Break meter is full, use Gustave’s Overcharge skill to Break the boss, then exploit that lightning weakness and you should be able to quickly take down this boss.
