An important part of any game but especially survival horror games is knowing how to save your progress and Silent Hill 2 Remake is no different. You aren’t able to just open a menu and save whenever you want and with so many different monsters that are able to quickly end James’ journey, knowing how to save your game is imperative to reaching the game’s ending. No worries, though! Allow us to break it down for you. This guide will show players how to save their game in Silent Hill 2 Remake.
How to Save in Silent Hill 2 Remake
Silent Hill 2 Remake does have a new autosave feature where the game will save on its own at certain points. These autosaves will be at important parts of the game, usually as a sign of reaching a massive progression. You will know that the game is autosaving when a box of 9 white squares appears in the bottom right corner of the screen.
While it’s great that your game will be saved in the background while simply playing, the only way to perform a manual save is the same as the original game. Throughout the town of Silent Hill, there are these strange and ominous squares that emit a bright red glow. These are your save points. Approach one of these squares and interact with it to take you to the save menu.
There are a max of 10 slots for you to use. The game can be loaded at any time from both the pause screen as well as the main menu under the “Load” option found on both screens. Pressing “Continue” on the main menu will load the most recent save available. This can be either a manual or autosave.
