A core conflict in Silent Hill f is between Hinako and her parents. After braving the twisted version of her home, she is confronted by monstrous versions of both her mother and father. Players will need to bring the fight to them if they hope to continue through the game and truly discover what is happening to this quiet town. This guide will show players how to beat the Hinako’s Parents Boss Fight in Silent Hill f.
How to Beat the Hinako’s Parents Boss Fight in Silent Hill f
Hinako’s parents are found at the end of the Shimizu Residence section of the game. Complete the My Room Puzzle and grab the Pine Tree Emblem from Hinako’s desk. After a cutscene, go to the east down the hallway next to Hinako’s room. Follow this path all the way to the end to find a red door. Use the emblem to open the door to enter a new hallway. Go to the end of this hallway to find another door that you can open. Once through the door, a cutscene will play, and the boss fight will start.
Before starting this battle, you will want to make sure you’ve equipped the right Omamori perks to make this fight a bit easier. Depending on how much you’ve upgraded Hinako, it’s possible you could equip only a single Omamori or have multiple, so I will list several options and you can decide which you prefer. This first selection of Omamori are Hidden Omamori, so you will need to find them during your playthrough in specific locations. The Hawk Omamori is great for this fight since it will increase your focus charge time, allowing you to perform Focus Attacks quickly. The Suzuran Omamori will make Perfect Dodges easier to perform. This will be useful since there will be a lot more attacks coming your way as you’re battling multiple bosses at once. The Bull is also great as it decreases the Stamina consumed by Heavy and Focus Attacks.
At any hokora, you can spend Faith to get a random Omamori that is different from the Hidden ones. If you’ve gotten the Beetle Omamori is one of these hokora Omamori and is great for this fight since it increases damage done to stunned enemies. The Dolphin is great as well since it will restore Max Sanity on a Perfect Dodge. The Owl will greatly decrease sanity consumption while using Focus. Finally, the Mantis Omamori slightly restores health after each successful Counter. Acquiring any of these Omamori before this battle requires some luck, but make sure you put it on if you were lucky enough to get it from one of these small shrines.
During this battle, you will need to fight against the corrupted versions of Hinako’s Mother and Father. The latter turns into a stronger version of the Ara-abare enemies you’ve seen through the game, retaining the same moveset as giant blade-wielding beasts you’ve encountered. Her Mother is a unique enemy who takes a few attacks from the Rinko-like Entity while also getting a few unique attacks and trading out Rinko’s weapon for a kitchen knife.

Hinako’s mom has a combo attack similar to Rinko’s attack. She will grip her knife with both hands and pull it behind her head. She will perform two swipes with her attack before pausing and performing a shoulder tackle for the final hit of the combo. She will be parryable during the shoulder tackle, so you can risk the damage to attempt a parry here if you want to get some extra damage and stun.

She also has a charging attack like Rinko, where she charges at you to perform a quick upward slash. She will telegraph this attack by extending her weapon arm down and to her side before quickly sprinting toward you.

One of her unique attacks is her knife throw. When you’re far away, she will pull her arm back and throw her knife at you as a projectile.

One of her most unique abilities and most reflective of the relationship between the characters is the grab attack. Hinako’s Mother will spike her knife into the ground and sprint toward you. If you get grabbed, she will drag Hinako to her Father and throw her at her feet and demand that she apologize to her. You will be stunned for a short time, leaving you open for an attack from Hinako’s dad.

When it comes to her Father, his main attacks will come from his knife arm. One of his most powerful attacks is his overhead slam. He will pull back and quickly slam his knife into the ground a total of 3 times in a combo. This combo can be parried.

When at a distance from her Father, he will perform the running attack. This startup has a similar startup to the overhead slam, so take note of your distance from him to figure out which attack is coming. After charging up his attack, he will sprint toward Hinako and, when he gets close enough, will perform a single overhead slam.

With his other hand, Hinako’s Father has a tenacle arm that he can use as both an attack and a grab. He can perform a two-swing combo with this arm

The other attack with his tendril is a grab. He will wrap up Hinako and pull her toward him, throwing her to the ground, leaving her open to be attacked.

He also has an attack where the mouth in his stomach will let out a roar. You will know when this attack is coming when he stands straight up and you see some gas start coming from his mouth. If you’re hit by this roar, you will be stunned, take Sanity damage, and leave yourself open for another attack from Hinako’s Mother.

After taking some damage or getting stunned, Hinako’s Father will start to flail about, throwing wild swings of both his tendril arm and knife to keep you away. Keep your distance until this attack is finished.

Use your parries and dodges to create openings to attack the bosses. You will be limited to the weapons that you’ve brought into the fight, so I would suggest having at least one Heavy Weapon to get some massive damage off against the bosses. You only need to defeat Hinako’s Father to complete this boss, but if you defeat her Mother, she will drop her Kitchen Knife for you to use as a weapon. It’s also important to note that Hinako’s Father will become more erratic and will get slightly longer versions of his combos if you defeat her Mother. Create openings, strike with some heavy strikes, parry when possible, and use Repair Kits to keep your most powerful tools. Also, keep a majority of your focus on Hinako’s Father.

Repeat the process of dodging, parrying, and heavy attacks until you completely take down the health of Hinako’s Father. A cutscene will play and Hinako’s Parents will leave the house together will be banished. If you beat Hinako’s Father without beating her Mother, you will unlock the “Just Shut Up for Once, Dad!” Achievement/Trophy. Beating the boss will end the Shimizu Residence section of the game and send you to the Treasure Hall, the fifth visit to the Otherworld.
