Players who want to purify the Sacred Sword in Silent Hill f will first need to summon the crimson water. To do this, the Crimson Water puzzle needs to be solved. This is an optional puzzle found in a hidden part of the Otherworld and can only be accessed in New Game+. How to Complete the Crimson Water Puzzle in Silent Hill f
The Crimson Water Puzzle is found in the Hermitage of Crimson Water, a hidden area that can be accessed from the Main Hall, the 4th Otherworld location. You will need to go to the staircase that you visit after completing the second ritual and taking on the crest that allows Bestial Form. Since this is New Game+, you can reach this area from the central Main Hall without having to go to the ritual locations. Once you enter Main Hall, go to the southeast corner area and open a heavy metal door with your Fox Arm. Once through the door, open the door to your left with a crest on it. You will be at the base of a staircase. Go up two staircases. At the top of the second staircase is a room with bluish moonlight coming through the roof and a destroyed floor. Go around the destroyed floor to reach the northwest corner of the room to find a marked wall. Focus on the wall with your Fox Mask to melt it and reveal a new path. You will find an Inari-sama door at the end of this path. With the Brooch you received at the end of your first playthrough, you can open this door. Follow the path behind the door to reach the Hermitage of Crimson Water.
Once in the Hermitage of Crimson Water, go to the northwest corner of the area. Go across a small bridge to find a rock with a carving in it. Unlike other puzzles, this writing is the same across all playthroughs and you will only need to do this puzzle once, as its effects carry over to all New Game+ playthroughs that are loaded from a save file where the puzzle was solved. The rock says the following:
He who seeks the crimson water which banishes evil…
When the shishi-odoshi strikes once, let the bell chime. Thrice shall the bells ring to speak the legends of this land.
Trapped under a great stone in the lake’s abyss lies a slumbering water dragon, born during the age of gods and sealed away by our ancestors.
Deprived of the water dragon’s spirit, the once lush green tree has met a withering fate.
You will need to find 3 bells around the area and ring them in a specific order. Go up to the building overlooking the area and go to the balcony to find a bell with a volcano on it. This is the stone the dragon is trapped under.
Go back to the rock that had the righting and look to the right of it to find a bell with water on it. This is the dragon’s spirit.
Go to the rock bridge in the middle of the Hermitage of Crimson Water to find a bell with a withered tree on it. This is the once-lush tree mentioned in the story.
Once all the bells are rung in the correct order, the water of the area will become crimson red. You can now purify the Sacred Sword in your 6th visit to Ebisugaoka. This will allow you to achieve either the “Fox’s Wedding” ending if you also collected the Agura no Hotei-sama or the “Ebisugaoka in Silence” Ending if you gave up the Brooch to the 6th Jizo Statue.
