Late in the story of STALKER 2, big story events will occur and change the Zone completely. Some areas, like the starting settlement of Zalissya, are permanently changed after a certain story trigger. Once that trigger has been set off, there’s a big problem in this base — a very important door is permanently unlocked for some players. Many players are experiencing a bug that blocks off access to Zalissya completely and makes a visible side-mission impossible to reach.
This bug is so bad, some players have resorted to using Noclip cheats to access the inside — but that solution is only available on PC. If you want to fix this bug without installing a mod to unlock console commands, then you can try this method. It worked for us. It just might work for you.
This is a problem that still persists even after the massive patch released in late November for STALKER 2. Likely, this will get patched sooner rather than later. But if you’re playing the game and impatient to unlock the rest of Zalissya, you can try this fix.

What Is The Zalissya Locked Door Bug?
After completing the main mission ‘The Forge of Progress‘ and ‘Wishful Thinking‘ you’ll learn the SCIRPAA region and return to the Zone. At this point in the story, the Zone is now overrun with a new army of enemies. There will be more spoilers ahead so if this is too far for you, turn back now.
In the Lesser Zone region, Zalissya is under attack by the Monolith army. This faction has been reactivated by the Wish Granter, and they are violently wiping out every faction in the Zone. Zalissya will be destroyed — but the survivors are holed up in the center building where the Ward once controlled the area. The double doors should open and give you access to the item box, a vendor, and a bed for sleeping. There’s also a side-mission available in the new Zalissya base.
- Bug: If the Zalissya base bug is active, the doors to the large building on the hill will be locked permanently instead of opening. This only occurs after the player has left SCIRPAA and the Monolith faction reappears.
This bug seems to block players from accessing any of the Zalissya facilities. The entire town has moved into the hall, so there’s nothing you can do. Some players are using Unreal Engine 5 console commands to cheat — use Ghost then deactivate to get through the doors — but there’s a better way.
How To Fix The Zalissya Locked Door Bug
The Zalissya locked door bug can reportedly be fixed on console or on PC. This method works for both and doesn’t require mods or cheats to use. To do this trick, you’ll need to have not finished The Hornet’s Nest main mission at The Sphere.
This solution was shared by u/kdrstalker on Reddit, and it works great.
- To fix the locked door at Zalissya post-SCIRPAA, go to The Sphere near Zalissya. Get spotted by Monolith soldiers at this location.
- Once the Monolith soldiers spot you, sprint back to Zalissya. Don’t let them lose track of you. Lure them back to the base — bring lots of health packs.
- Lure the Monolith soldiers very close to the destroyed settlement. They can’t enter the non-combat zone, but they don’t need to. Kill them outside and the Zalissya doors will unlock.
That’s it. Any Monolith soldiers will work, but the soldiers are much more commonly found in the Sphere area nearby. There are some Monolith spawns that are random or at the North Checkpoint but leading them back to Zalissya can be more difficult. If you’re sick of waiting for a patch, give this method a try.
