Zombies maps are already pretty spooky affairs in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. ‘Dead of the Night’ is set in a creepy mansion that’s fallen to a sudden invasion of the undead, and that includes a healthy dose of Vampires and Werewolves to round out the overall menace. But, there’s one fun shocking sight you’ll only get from repeated looks into a seer stone — a normal woman’s face will transform into a shrieking undead head.
The trick is all related to the multiple crystals scattered around the map. To unlock the Pack-a-Punch machine and the Forest area, you’ll need to complete three challenges hinted at when you interact with a charged seer stone. The stone shows you a vision and a clue — but try to look into the stone too many times, and you’ll get a startling surprise. Get Spooked By A Zombie Jumpscare Easter egg [VIDEO]
To see a scary jumpscare in ‘Dead of the Night’ — all you have to do is find one of the crystals (seer stones) in one of three general areas. You’ll find the stones in a jar in the Wine Cellar, the Master Bedroom area (Trophy Room, Bedroom Hallway), or the Library / Study.
Smash the vase, and you’ll be able to charge a crystal with zombie souls. Kill zombies near the crystal to charge it — it only takes four zombie souls to activate a crystal. Interact with the crystal to get a vision of an item in the mansion; that’s how you normally complete the Pack-a-Punch quest.
But, if you want to see a spooky, frightening face instead, follow this simple step.
- Reuse a charged crystal (seer stone) multiple times to get a jumpscare Easter egg.
- It takes plenty of uses — 5+. Just keep doing it, and you’ll get a glimpse of the scary face.
The image is of a normal old lady. As it glides toward the screen, the image screams and transforms into a decrepit zombie face. It’s your classic screamer jumpscare, and this one isn’t a joke like the previous jumpscare Easter egg found ‘Classified’ — which featured the truly horrible old-school face of Richtofen.
