WW2 Zombies: Shadowed Throne - How To Scavenge Bonus Points, Ammo & More

‘The Shadowed Throne’, the second DLC map for Call of Duty: WW2 has a special interest in melee weapons. While exploring the ruins of Berlin, you’ll find lots of additional melee weapons you can equip — and some of them can be used to earn extra ammo, jolts, or lethal equipment. It’s all about using the special attack, even if only certain weapons will work.

There are lots of melee weapons to scavenge in ‘The Shadowed Throne’ — and some of them are required to make progress. Three weapons specifically can slice into zombies and earn you bonus rewards. The Shovel, the Pickaxe, and the Trench Knife are all guaranteed to eventually help you earn bonus rewards. You just need to watch your surroundings. The harvest takes a few seconds to complete. A horde of zombies can rip you to shreds if you’re not careful.

How To Scavenge Bonus Points, Ammo & More

To scavenge ammo, jolts, lethal equipment and much more, you’ll need to acquire one of the new melee weapons — specifically, the pickaxe. Other melee weapons will also work.

The Pickaxe, when using a special attack, will earn you special rewards. One of the following rewards will appear after using a special attack on standard zombies.
- Bonus Jolts
- Bonus Ammo
- Bonus Lethal Equipment
- And more.

To find the pickaxe, unlock doors to the Main Street then enter the Museum. The pickaxe is embedded on the display case near the stairs on the first floor, behind the large T-posing body in the glass. Hold [Square / X] to collect the pickaxe — everyone in your team can pick up melee weapons.

Once you have a pickaxe, press [Left / Right] to equip your melee weapon.
- To use the pickaxe special attack, sprint [R3] and then hold attack [R2 / RT] to slam the pickaxe into a zombie skull.

It takes a few seconds, but the charge attack is an instant kill ability against standard / pest zombies. Killing them will get you extra ammo, jolts, equipment, or more.

The Spiked Bat is found in Main Street. Hold [L2 / LT] for a long-range strike that will sometimes earn bonus jolts. This is the fastest, safest melee weapon to use early in the map.
The Shovel is found in the Underbelly, right at the start of the map. Hold [L2 / LT] then strike with [R2 / RT] to stab with the shovel and harvest the zombie to get bonus lethal / jolts / ammo.
The Trench Knife is near the backstage door of the cabaret. Hold [L2 / LT] and strike with [R2 / RT] for an instakill stab that will also harvest.
