The start of Season 3 Reloaded in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 has introduced new content across every mode for the two FPS titles. One of these new additions is a brand-new weapon known as the Throwing Star, a new Lethal Grenade that was first introduced as a pickup on Ashika Island in Warzone 2.0‘s Resurgence Mode but is now available to be added to a custom loadout. A weapon that shares a few similarities to the Throwing Knife but with enough to keep it distinct, it is a fun weapon to add to a player’s arsenal, but the weapon must first be unlocked before it is able to be used. This guide will explain how to unlock the Throwing Star in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.

How To Unlock The Throwing Star In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
The Throwing Star shares a lot of aspects of its gameplay with the Throwing Knife Lethal Grenade already in the game but does have distinct differences that make it stand out and not just a reskin weapon. Where the knife will instantly kill an enemy that it strikes, the Throwing Star will need to hit the enemy in the head in order to get a one-shot kill. Non-lethal hits will cause a wounding effect on the enemy that is hit similar to the different ammo types found in the guns. The Throwing Star is also much quicker and has a higher total capacity that players can carry, making following up a non-lethal hit or a missed throw much quicker compared to the Throwing Knife.
With this new weapon being added in the Season 3 Update, it will not be found in the Battle Pass and will instead require players to complete a challenge to complete it. Since the new Lethal has so many similarities to the Throwing Knife, it only makes sense that the challenge in question requires the use of the Knife. Players will unlock the Throwing Star after getting 50 kills with the Throwing Knife. Additionally, while the weapon isn’t like the M13B and is found exclusively in DMZ, players who find the Throwing Star in the extraction mode and exfil from a match with the weapon will unlock the weapon.
