There’s a brand new set of armor included in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — it’s based on Xenoblade 2, and it’s included in a totally free DLC. The more outfits Link can wear, the better our lives are, so of course we’re going to hunt this armor down and explain what it takes to complete the small side-quest.
To get the ‘Salvager’ armor, you’ll need to download the latest update for Breath of the Wild, then hop into your game. A new quest will appear in your Adventure Log called [Xenoblade Chronicles 2] — select it and you can dive right into the quest. For this quest, you’ll need to collect three red shooting stars. Let’s get started.
How To Get the Xenoblade 2 Armor | DLC Guide
Once you’ve got the quest [Xenoblade Chronicles 2] selected from the Adventure Log menu, you’ll need to find three red shooting stars at night, at the following locations.
- The southern sky from the middle of the largest bridge.
- The eastern sky from the skull’s left eye.
- The southeastern sky from the peak of the tall, pierced snowy mountain.
Go to each of the locations listed below, then wait until night falls. At night, a bright red shooting star will appear in the sky and crash into the ground. You’ll hear a loud whistle! Go to the crash location to get a treasure chest — each chest contains one piece of the Salvager gear.
- Salvager Headwear [5 Armor + Swim Speed Up]: The middle of the Bridge of Hylia, in the Lake Region. Stand at the fountain on the bridge at night. Face south of the bridge to spot it.
- Salvager Vest [5 Armor + Swim Speed Up]: On the left “eye” of Skull Lake, the skull-shaped lake in the northeastern corner of the Akala Region. Teleport to the Zuna Kai Shrine if you have it unlocked, and look east to see the star.
- Salvager Trousers [5 Armor + Swim Speed Up]: At the peak of Hebra Mountain, in the Hebra Region. Zoom into the mountain and go right where the “Hebra Peak” label is located. Look southeast to see the falling star.
Go to the crash site for each star, and grab the chest to get all three Salvager armor set parts. The armor provides mild protection (only 5 Armor each, so 15 Armor total) but increases your Swim Speed. Equip all three to get the Swim Dash Stamina Up Set Bonus.
