Roblox’s popular game, Grow a Garden, introduced the next limited time update! Bringing in feathery new friends, birds of different kinds fly onto the scene in The Hungry Birds Event. Available until January 24th, let’s peep in on what this update brings and how to grab an egg on your own.
Bird’s Nest

The main focus of this event centers around the, well, center. Located in the middle of the server, a large square nest lays, with birds flying above the nest in circles. If you approach the nest, you will be prompted to feed the nest with a food item held in your hand.
A farmer named Catherine stands beside the nest. If you interact with her, she will ask for your help to feed the hungry birds! If you do, you will be rewarded with an item, and if you’re lucky, that item will be an egg!
Feeding the birds will reward one of the following items:
- A Basic Sprinkler
- A Bird Egg
- A Watering Can
What is inside a Bird’s Egg?

If you are lucky, after feeding the birds a food item, they will gift you an egg. Once you get a bird’s egg from the nest, you can place it on a plot in your garden and wait for it to grow! Bird eggs take 20 minutes to hatch, but once that time is up, you can say hello to one of the following birds!
Blackbird – 44.9% chance
- Dark Chirp: Pets hatched from eggs have a bonus 1 -3.21 age to their age value!
Cuckoo – 30%
- Cuckoo Luck: When you get a Lucky Harvest, there is a 2.52% chance to get triple seeds.
Brown Owl – 20%
- Big Eyes: All active pets gain an additional >0.1 XP/s!
Gold Finch – 5%
- Sparkle Squack: Every 50:00-16:40, has a 5-15% chance to apply the Goldsparkle mutation to a nearby fruit!
Birb – 0.1%
- Birbegg: Every 5:00m, can use its cuteness to hatch eggs faster. All eggs advanced their hatch time by 150s! There’s a 30% chance for the time advance to be multiplied by >2.5.
Along with normal bird eggs, players also have a chance to hatch rainbow birds through Rainbow Premium Bird Eggs, read below to find out more about these special eggs.
Along with regular bird eggs, you can also purchase a Premium Bird Egg from the shop (the green button with a shopping basket that is on the left of the screen) with Robux. These eggs have the same birds that hatch from inside but the chances of getting some of the rarer birds are higher. An odd inclusion inside a premium bird egg is a 1% chance of hatching a Rainbow Premium Bird Egg. An egg hatching an egg? Sounds weird but it’s true!

Does it matter what I feed the nest?
You may be curious if feeding a higher quality fruit bears a higher chance to a bird egg. Unfortunately there is no evidence currently to show that feeding specific fruits, or even golden, mutated, or larger versions of these fruits have a higher chance of being gifted a bird egg.
What is the Best Bird?
Players currently agree that Birb is the best of the birds to have in your garden, which makes sense why the avian critter has such a low chance of being hatched. With higher tiered eggs taking sometimes 8 hours to hatch normally, I don’t know about you, but that’s way too long!
This update won’t be around for much longer, which is a bit sad. Those feathery cuties will surely be missed!
5 new friends to have in your garden! Which one will you get? Serve those birds a large helping of fruits and find out!
