Black Ops 4 Zombies: Tag Der Toten - How To Craft Heat Packs & Earn Immunity To Freezing

The Heat Pack gives you the miraculous ability to run around the freezing waters of Tag Der Toten without turning into a block of ice — making it basically an unmissable upgrade. Getting it isn’t too hard either, you just need to know what to do to find all three crafting parts. They’re hidden, but in a pretty weird way.

This is the final Black Ops 4 Zombies map, and maybe the last Zombies map in general for a long time. This map doesn’t just star heroes from Black Ops Zombies’ past, it also ends the Aether Storyline — which has technically already ended a few times before. This is meant to be the true, truest ending — but you’ll have to complete a complicated Easter egg quest to get there.

We won’t get into the Easter egg here, but this Heat Pack upgrade does make traversing the map a whole lot easier.

How To Craft Heat Packs & Earn Immunity To Freezing

Before you can craft Heat Packs, you’ll need two items — the Zipline Handle and the Dynamite Bomb. Check the guides linked above for all the details.

To get the Heat Pack parts, travel up to the Outer Walkway in the Mountain Base — you’ll need to blow open the ‘X’ barrier with a dynamite bomb to reach it. Find the yellow Launcher with a broken gearbox. Collect the gearbox.

Take the gearbox to the Lighthouse Level 4 and place it on the dumbwaiter — the Hermit will fix it for you. Take it back to the Launcher and put it back into place to reactivate the busted Launcher.

Now you can use the Outer Walkway Launcher to launch yourself to three different areas of the map — depending on where you stand. You can stand on the left, the right, or the middle.

To get all three Heat Pack crafting parts, you need to launch yourself from all three Outer Walkway Launcher positions. A crafting item will appear where you you land.

Heat Pack Crafting Parts:
- Part #1: Appears on the ground when launched from the Outer Walkway Launcher — left side.
- Part #2: Appears on the ground when launched from the Outer Walkway Launcher — right side.
- Part #3: Appears on the ground when launched from the Outer Walkway Launcher — middle.

Take the parts to any of the crafting stations to create the Heating Pack — a permanent upgrade that allows you to move freely in the freezing water without turning into ice. You can also move much faster in the water this way.
