Black Ops 4 Zombies: Tag Der Toten - How To Unlock The Golden Pack-A-Punch

There are two levels of Pack-a-Punch in the Tag Der Toten map — the standard Pack-a-Punch, and the more powerful Golden Pack-a-Punch. That’s twice the amount of Pack-a-Punch than your standard Black Ops 4 Zombies map. Unlocking the standard Pack-a-Punch is incredibly easy, but getting the Golden Pack-a-Punch takes a little bit more effort. Below, I’ll explain how to get both gun upgrade machines with the quick guide below.

Despite requiring extra steps, unlocking the Golden Pack-a-Punch is also very easy if you know exactly where to find all the items required. The problem with that is you’re being chased by hungry undead zombies, so searching for hand cranks isn’t exactly a simple process on the frozen shores of this icy island getaway.

How To Unlock The Golden Pack-A-Punch | Gun Upgrade Guide

Unlocking the Pack-a-Punch is the first step of the Easter egg quest, and it’s a casual, fun activity that anyone playing this map can accomplish alone. You don’t have to be hardcore to play this far into the map.

Step #1: Activate The Power Switches

To get started, you need to pull two power switches and turn on the power in two different locations.

Power Switch #1: Docks – In the spawn room, on the docks.
Power Switch #2: Bridge – In the control room at the top of the crashed ship.

Activate both power switches, then travel to the cave outside the lighthouse.

Step #2: Get The Blue Crystal

In the Lighthouse Approach area, which is a small blue-tinted cave between the Lighthouse and the beach, you’ll find a glowing blue rock fragment. Melee or shoot the rock, then collect it.

Take the rock up to the Lighthouse Level 4 room. Place the blue crystal onto the lowered dumbwaiter and you’ll unlock the first level of Pack-a-Punch. It appears randomly in one of three ice blocks around the main part of the map. There’s still another level of power to unlock — the Gold Pack-a-Punch. Let’s continue.

Step #3: Get The Zipline Handle

To get the Zipline Handle, a bonus item that allows you to travel up to the evil Nazi base at the top of the mountain, you’ll need to find two cranks on the crashed ship.

Crank #1:
- Stern – Inside the small interior room.
- Stern – Next to a yellow barrel in the exterior, on the ledge facing the beach.
- Stern – Next to the pile of snow outside the interior door.
Crank #2:
- Forecastle – Across from the cooking pot, leaning on a giant wire spool.
- Forecastle – On the ground, to the left Auger Wall-Buy.
- Forecastle – Near the red shipping container.

Take each crank to the handle holes — one is on the Sundeck, the other on the Forecastle. Crank until the zipline is taught, then go back to the Lighthouse Level 4. A dumbwaiter will lower with the Zipline Handle.

Step #4: Activate The Gold Pack-a-Punch

To activate the Gold Pack-a-Punch, use the Zipline Handle to reach the Nazi base at the top of the mountain. Flip the switch in the Human Infusion room to finally unlock the upgraded PaP.

To find the upgraded PaP, go to the Sun Deck. All players must stand on the launcher at the same time to reach the iceberg island with the enhanced Pack-a-Punch. You’ll be stuck on the island for a short time before teleporting back.
