How to Complete the Dempsey Dog Tags Easter Egg on Ashes of the Damned
To do this Easter Egg, you will need to be playing as Tank Dempsey, so make sure you select Dempsey as your playable Operator in the pre-game lobby. If you’re playing as any other character, you won’t be able to start this Easter Egg. Once in the game, make your way to Crashed Rocket, the Fog area between Ashwood and Zarya Cosmodrome. Stick to the east side of the path, and you will find a downed rocket along the right cliffside. Go through a small walkway to find two burned corpses in the ground in the wreckage. You will start to hear voicelines from Dempsey when near the bodies. Look to the south of the bodies near a piece of the rocket to find Dempsey’s Dog Tags in the snow. Interact with them to start this Easter Egg.
You will be teleported to a Vietnamese jungle. You will need to follow a black orb and kill Zombies at the locations where it stops. During this sequence, you will hear a voiceover discussing Dempsey’s failures in the war. You will come across his universe’s version of Weaver, who recruits Dempsey for a mission. You will then go to the temple part of the jungle, where you will need to fight strong, armored Zombies. After killing enough of them, you will turn into a Disciple, an event caused by Weaver and Strauss and explaining Demspey’s ties to the Dark Aether.
After killing the remaining Zombies as the Disciple, the flashback will end, and you will return to the main map. Demsey will throw down the Dog Tags, and you will be given some powerful rewards like a Legendary weapon, Killstreaks, Essence, and Salvage. This Easter Egg can only be done once and will only be experienced by a player who is Dempsey. Any teammates in the game will continue to play the game as normal while Dempsey goes through this Easter Egg alone. The first time you complete this Easter Egg, you will also unlock the ood Soldiers Achievement and Trophy as well as the “Lucidity” Dark Ops Challenge and Calling Card.
