Black Ops 4 Zombies: Tag Der Toten - How To Get The Zipline Handle & Access The Full Map

Without the Zipline Handle it’s impossible to access the full area of the Tag Der Toten map in Black Ops 4. This special relic allows players to ascend up zipline cables — before getting this item, you can only take ziplines down. This upgrade gives you much easier access around the map, allowing you to zip up to the Nazi base at the top of the hill; a previously unreachable area.

If you want to fully experience the Tag Der Toten map, you’ll need to find all the parts and earn the Zipline Handle upgrade. It’s a worth upgrade, and it’s also extremely easy to find if you know where to get all the items. They always spawn in the same spots, so once you find them all, you’ll have no problem finding them again and again.

The upper part of the map, the secret science facility at the top of the mountain, is completely cut-off from the lower half. The only way to reach it is by zipline, and you’ll need the Zipline Handle to ascend any zipline for free. It’s like an easy fast-travel option once you’ve unlocked it.

To gain the handle, you need to find two Zipline Cranks and pull two loose ziplines taut on the ship. One zipline cable is located on the Forecastle, the other is on the Sundeck.

To tighten the ziplines, you need to find missing Zipline Cranks.

Crank #1:
- Stern – Inside the small interior room.
- Stern – Next to a yellow barrel in the exterior, on the ledge facing the beach.
- Stern – Next to the pile of snow outside the interior door.
Crank #2:
- Forecastle – Across from the cooking pot, leaning on a giant wire spool.
- Forecastle – On the ground, to the left Auger Wall-Buy.
- Forecastle – Near the red shipping container.

Take the cranks, and place them on the zipline handles. As stated before, one is on the Sundeck, and the other is in the Forecastle area. Turn the cranks until the wires are fully tightened, and you’ll be done with your quest.

Now return to Lighthouse Level 4. Once you finish this quest, a dumbwaiter will lower with the Zipline Handle upgrade. Grab it and you’re free to slide up and down all the ziplines on the map. That includes the large science area at the top of the hill.
