The story behind an unusually nice Fallout 4: Nuka-World NPC has been revealed by redditor NoohjXLVII, and it’s a sad one.
The NPC, known only as “Evan” and found in a lonely home south of the eponymous Nuka-World theme park, is a late-in-development tribute to the fan’s brother, all in response to a Reddit post detailing how NoohjXLVII used Fallout 4 to help deal with tragedy in his life. The original post, entitled “Thank you Bethesda and Fallout 4” explains how one son used Fallout 4 — specifically a Sentry Bot companion — to bond with a lost father.
According to redditor NoohjXLVII, people at Bethesda planned to send a Care Package to the family, but his brother passed before the package could be sent. As a way of paying tribute, the Bethesda developers promised to include an NPC named after the brother — and that NPC appears as promised in Nuka-World.
To find Evan’s Home, travel south from the Nuka-Station. His house is on the very edge of the map, and the NPC himself is one of the friendliest and most helpful you’ll find in the Commonwealth. There’s plenty of good items to collect — that he willingly offers — and talking to him, you’ll gain a free Nuka-Love recipe.
Mostly, Evan just likes to sit on the roof of his trailer and enjoy the view. He knows how hard its been for people out in the wasteland and just wants to help. He’s also an essential NPC — he can’t be hurt.
Bethesda has yet to release any official statement on this unique NPC, but it’s pretty clear he’s someone special. Check him out with the gallery and location above.
