Pokemon Ultra Sun & Moon: How to Evolve Poipole Into Naganadel

The big-headed Poipole is the one Ultra Beast you’re most likely to get in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon. Once you progress far enough in the story, Poipole is basically unmissable — unless you miss it on purpose. Whatever the case, Poipole isn’t that intimidating in his first form. You’ll have to evolve Poipole to turn him into the threatening Naganadel, a poison / dragon dual-type Ultra Beast. He’s a pretty cool alien bee with a mean stinger, and he’s absolutely worth unlocking.

Ultra Sun and Moon includes even more Ultra Beasts than ever before, throwing in a fresh set to go along with the regular UBs found in vanilla Sun and Moon. Every Ultra Beast can be unlocked when you travel the Ultra Wormholes, flying Legendary Pokémon through space to enter rare White Wormholes. Look, it’s complicated, but Poipole is an exception to the rule. There’s no need to catch this little guy, but it can transform into a cool new form with the right ability equipped.

How to Evolve Poipole Into Naganadel | Ultra Beast Guide

Poipole, the ugly little alien Ultra Beast, is a reward from the Ultra Recon Squad late in the game. You can always return to Ultra Megapolis to collect Poipole, even if you say no. This is the one Ultra Beast you don’t need to catch yourself, so it’s a pretty common critter — if you want to get everything you can out of this Ultra Beast, evolution is the way to go.

How to Evolve Poipole:
1. Get a Heart Scale so you can re-learn moves.
  - Go to Konikoni City and enter the restaurant. Order a meal and you’ll get heart scales.
2. Go to the PokeCenter on Mount Lanakila, before the Elite Four and talk to the Move Reminder.
  - The Move Reminder is standing on the right near the PokeMart, in a green dress.
3. Learn the move “Dragon Pulse” on Poipole.
  - Level up Dragon-type Pokémon or catch them to learn Dragon Pulse.
4. Gain one level with Poipole (equipped with Dragon Pulse) to evolve.

And that’s it! Once you have Dragon Pulse in your moveset, Poipole will become Naganadel, a Poison / Dragon Ultra Beast. It has exceptional speed, flies, and generally kicks lots of butt. It’s a really good Ultra Beast, and worth collecting quick.
