Fortnite: How to Slide Across a Vehicle | Challenge Guide

July 15, 2024 by Lauren Sayles

The Wasteland is full of surprises.

Every week, Fortnite rolls out a new set of quests for players to complete and earn XP rewards. Some tasks are simpler than others, but from time to time, there’ll be a challenge that’s complex. One of those quests asks you to slide across a vehicle in Fortnite and here is how.

Sliding across a vehicle may be something you’ve never done as it doesn’t provide any benefits and, of course, it isn’t a vehicles primary use. Now, you can learn a new move and bank yourself some XP along the way.

How to slide across a vehicle in Fortnite

The best way to complete this quest is to land at a gas station or visit an empty one during a match. If you land at a gas station and it’s contested by players, head straight for the vehicle and drive it to a safe location. Also, vehicles can randomly spawn across the island, but landing at a gas station will guarantee that you find one.

Once you’ve got control of a vehicle, all that’s left to do is slide across it. Place some distance between you and the vehicle, allowing you enough space to sprint up to it. Right before you reach the car, jump and hit the slide button to perform the move. You can slide anywhere on the vehicle, as long as your character’s body hits the vehicle’s surface while sliding.

The Wrecked season is home to a diverse set of vehicles, with all of them compatible with this challenge. That said, a sports car is perhaps the easiest to slide on due to the fact that it has a low roof.

Immediately after successfully sliding across a Fortnite vehicle, the challenge will be marked as complete and you’ll be awarded 15,000 XP for your efforts. As we near the latter stages of the current Fortnite season, racking up XP is more important than ever when trying to complete the battle pass.
