Like clockwork, Fortnite’s yearly Star Wars crossover has unleashed new and returning content. Imperial Roadblocks have become a staple, but as the map changes with each season, so do the locations of where the Stormtroopers set up their base.
Imperial Roadblocks are specific locations dotted around the Fortnite island where Imperial Chests and Stormtroopers spawn. From here, you can loot the special kinds of chests to obtain the E-11 Blaster and the Mythic Wookiee Bowcaster. Depending on the Roadblock you visit, you can even save Chewbacca from captivity or take on Darth Vader to become the owner of his Lightsaber.

Fortnite Imperial Roadblock locations
Various Star Wars quests require you to visit Imperial Roadblocks, so you’ll want to know where they’re situated. Here is where you’ll find Imperial Roadblocks in battle royale modes:
- On the island that’s directly north of Lavish Lair
- South of Lavish Lair, on the road near the main entrance
- In the snow, southeast of Classy Courts
- By the train tracks, south of Reckless Railways
- East of Snooty Steppes, by the Windmill
- Northwest of Snooty Steppes
An extra roadblock spawns randomly every match and it’s marked by blue smoke. This is where the Chewbacca NPC can be found and rescued. As for Darth Vader, he can be found on the island to the north of Lavish Lair. In battle, he will use his iconic red Lightsaber and The Force against you.
When you arrive at an Imperial Roadblock, prepare for a fight. As soon as the Stormtroopers spot you, they’ll begin firing their weapons at you. Make sure you land on a chest, or at a nearby location so you can quickly loot up. Keep in mind that these areas are highly contested with enemy players. Prepare yourself for a lot of gunfire early on in your match.
The Imperial Roadblocks will remain in Fortnite until the Star Wars event ends on May 14, 2024.
