Finally, the Doomguy gets his hands on the BFG-9000 in Mission 7: Mars Core. You’ll also experience one of the most ludicrous scenes imaginable — and that’s saying a lot in a game like DOOM Eternal. This level is complete madness, and if you don’t want to miss any of the collectibles, we’ve got all the locations listed below.
Starting on the moon of Phobos, you’ll eventually travel to the sky above Mars, and end the level in a lost city that’s dominated by demons. There’s a whole lot of location-switching in this level, so you’ll absolutely need to use the fast travel mechanic to return to previous areas if you’ve missed anything. There are something like four disconnected map sections here, which might be the new record.

How Collectibles Work In DOOM Eternal:
There are many different types of collectibles in DOOM Eternal: Automaps, Runes, Praetorian Points, Weapon Mods, Albums, Cheat Codes, Toys, Sentinel Crystals and Sentinel Batteries. Every level features an Automap, but not every level will have albums, toys, cheat codes, or Slayer Keys.
Basically, there are a ton of different collectibles, and below I’ll list where to find them all — in order from the beginning of the level to the end. Levels in DOOM Eternal are much more linear, so as long as you follow along, getting every collectible is easy.
- NOTE: To make finding collectibles easier, select the “?” Praetorian Suit upgrade for 3 points — it will cause every collectible location to appear on your map.

M7: Mars Core – Collectibles Locations:
Rune: In a room following your first encounter with a Baron of Hell. You can’t miss it.
Sentinel Battery: Clear the bridge to the BFG-10000 to unlock a maintenance hatch. Drop down, then turn around to find this collectible.
Automap: Found in the glowing green room filled with Zombies — the first room when you jump into the BFG-10000 Core.
Praetor Point: In the Automap room, ride the moving pistons to reach a high platform with this point.
Codex: Riding the pistons up and into the open vent, look left at the T-Junction.
Praetor Point: In the ‘outdoor’ Mars arena, a hatch will open up in the floor. Drop down, then smash through the cracked wall. From here, double-jump to reach a lower passage in the wreckage. It leads to this point.
Secret Encounter: To the left of the Praetor Point, in the secret passage through the cracked wall.
Toy – Prowler: Take the elevator up to the control room, then take a left down an optional hallway. It leads to a toy.
Rune: The final Rune collectible is located down the hallway from the surface gun control panel. After using the switch, go through the hall — and grab this rune before launching yourself!
Cheat Code – Powerup Mode: Onslaught: After launching yourself out of the catapult and crashing through the UAC facility wall, take the lower path to a jump pad. You’ll launch up through a ruined floor with this easy collectible.
Praetor Point: In the room that’s packed with tentacles, go into the side-hall and climb into the vent marked with green lights.
Album – Intro (Doom 64): From the Praetor Point, dash across to the jump pad. Turn around and use the pole to swing to a higher open vent with this missable collectible.
Secret Encounter: Past the poles, you’ll drop through the floor and back down onto floating chunks of Mars landscape. Go forward and enter the interior on the left. Smash through the cracked vent and enter the portal to find this secret.
Toy – Carcass: From the Secret Encounter, use the jump pad to reach an upper room. The toy is behind the pillar.
Praetor Point: After the encounter with the Pain Elemental, you’ll have to jump across floating spires in space. Stay on the high path, above the soft walls, and you can reach this Praetor Point. It’s easily visible, you’ll just need to platform to reach it.
Sentinel Battery: Once you reach the final facility in the floating Mars chunks area — you’ll use a jump pad to launch yourself there — turn around and jump on the spire platforms to reach this battery.
Sentinel Crystal: Back on the exterior ledge of the final UAC floating facility, enter the side room next to the entrance door.
Slayer Key: In the first room of the final UAC facility, enter a small control room and press a button. It moves a large window and raises a crate — use it to reach a high cracked vent that leads to the key.
Slayer Gate: Just below the key, down a hallway in the area filled with tentacle chutes.
Album – Goroth (Quake Champions): From the same raised platform where you were able to reach the Slayer Key, jump to the opposite cracked vent.
Toy – Pinky: From the tentacle rooms in the last UAC facility, drop down through the small hole and turn left to find a cracked vent. Blast through and ride the jump pad up.
Sentinel Battery: After crash landing in the lost city, drop down and you’ll find this collectible to your right.
Codex: Nearby, just next to the lost city entrance doors.
Praetor Point: The last collectible for this level is located to the left once you enter the stone interior, before the large battle arena ahead.
