As Final Fantasy 16 goes on, its side quests get a lot more interesting. While the game may lead with quests that have Clive deliver soup, eventually the side content is much more focused on building the game’s world. One type of quest that’s always worth doing, however, are the quests that have markers with plus signs on them.

These quests offer permanent upgrades to Clive’s abilities that would be otherwise inaccessible. Please Sir Can I Have Some Morbol is one such quest that players should make a priority if they want to increase the potency of their consumable items.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to complete the Please Sir Can I Have Some Morbol side quest in Final Fantasy 16.

How to Start the Please Sir Can I Have Some Morbol Side Quest

The Please Sir Can I Have Some Morbol side quest becomes available after completing the Like Father, Like Daughter main quest mission that has Clive inspect Mid’s workshop and investigate the orchestrion. Once that’s complete, you’ll notice that a side quest marker with a plus sign has appeared over the head of Nigel the head botanist in the Backyard. Run over there and talk with him to start the quest.

When talking with Nigel, he’ll tell you that he needs Morbol vines to graft onto the flowers you got him in the Root of the Problem side quest in order to make them grow in the damaged soil that’s in the Hideaway. Unfortunately for Clive, not just any Morbol will do and Nigel says that he’ll need the vine from a special Morbol that’s been marked on the Hunt Board.

Accept the quest and then head to the Hunt Board. Speak with Nektar the Moogle and ask about any Morbol sightings. He’ll show you the Hunt Board where you’ll find an entry for Carrot the Morbol. The board says that it’s found in the Whispering Waters of Rosaria near the Three Reeds Obelisk.

Carrot Morbol Location

After looking at the board, fast travel to the Three Reeds Obelisk in Rosaria. Head northwest to the clearing called the Whispering Waters marked on the map below. When you get there, you won’t immediately see the Morbol, however, as you get close to the center of the clearing, Carrot the Morbol will surface out of the swamp and engage in a fight with you.

The fight against Carrot is pretty similar to the other Morbol fights you’ve had up until this point in the game. It shouldn’t give you too much grief, however, if you need a guide breaking down all of the Morbol’s moves and how to dodge them, check out our guide on the Akashic Morbol right here. Once you’ve killed the Morbol, you’ll automatically pick up one of its vines. With the vine in hand, fast travel back to the Hideaway.

Speak with Nigel and hand over the vine. He’ll thank you and then the scene will cut to “some time later” and show that the garden is blooming in full thanks to the Morbol vine.

After the scene is over, a pop-up will appear telling you that the potency of your potions has increased to its maximum potential. Now, your Potions and High Potions will heal you for more and your Tonics will last for a longer period of time.
