Super Mario Odyssey: All 100 Purple Coins Locations

Grab all the purple coins in Bowser’s Kingdom as we reach the penultimate main level of Super Mario Odyssey. There are 100 coins to find in the Japanese Castle-themed fortress, and grabbing them (or a bunch of them, at least) will allow Mario to buy an awesome suit of armor that fits in perfectly with Bowser’s Kingdom.

Most of the coins are located in or around the castle walls. Using the pokey birds, you can climb the white walls or explore the rooftops for extra purple coins. Unlike most levels, there are no purple coins in the secret obstacle course areas, you’ll be able to get them all just exploring the castle. The last few are only available after completing the story missions, so prepare for a return trip.

Odyssey Landing Zone

4 Coins: On the main gate. Use the goombas to reach the high wall in the first area.

Third Courtyard (Front)

4 Coins: Use the poker bird to fling up onto the wall and go to the left.

Third Courtyard (Rear)

4 Coins: Climb the wall near the exit to this area to find these coins on the east.
4 Coins: On the left of the exit, find these coins floating outside the wall. Capture the bird enemy in the alcove along the west edge of this platform.

Second Courtyard

3 Coins: On the narrow ledge to the right of the checkpoint flag.
3 Coins: To the right as you move up from the flag. Go down the stairs with the spikey enemies. There’s a tiny alcove here.
3 Coins: Capture a bird and climb the high wall to the right of the flag. At the top, there are three coins floating there.
4 Coins: On the back walls of the area. Grab a bird and fling yourself right near the exit gate.
4 Coins: Climb the pagoda with a bird enemy – the tower with the two rolling bomb spawners.
3 Coins: From the pagoda with the double bomb spawners, drop down the ledge on the left with a bird enemy and fling yourself around – on this path, there are three more purple coins.
3 Coins: Three coins are on the wall to the left after unlocking the large gate doors that lead to the exit electrical wire. Jump to reveal hidden “?” blocks to reach the upper wall.

Souvenir Shop

3 Coins: In a narrow space on the roof of the shop.

Main Courtyard Entrance

3 Coins: On the rooftop to the left of the flag, above a portrait shortcut.

Main Courtyard

3 Coins: On the wall to the right of the main gate flag.
3 Coins: On the wall to the left of the main gate flag.
3 Coins: At the top of the gate, right above the checkpoint flag.
3 Coins: Dip into the water to the left as you enter the garden.

Outer Wall

3 Coins: On wall to the right of the three bomb spawners. Drop down with a bird to collect them.
4 Coins: While climbing the outer wall with the bird, reach the rotating wall plate on the right.
3 Coins: Continue climbing up and you’ll spot these coins in the center of another rotating wall.
3 Coins: Right before the Inner Wall, at the top of the Outer Wall, find these coins on the right.

Inner Wall

3 Coins: On the left side, behind a wall of spikes.
3 Coins: Drop down from the ledge on the right, starting from the Beneath the Keep Flag, and following the gold rings. Down below, you’ll find three coins in an area filled with purple poison and a smasher enemy.
3 Coins: From the previous three coins, continue to the large door with a gate. Wall-jump to the top of the gate (its tricky) to get three coins.
3 Coins: Floating above the poison on the platform to the right of the Inner Wall flag. This is the platform with swarms of spiked shell enemies.
3 Coins: Capture the pokey bird and climb the wall after fighting through the spiked shell enemies on the right side near the Inner Wall. Halfway up the spinning tiles you’ll find three coins.

Beneath the Keep

3 Coins: Under the bridge leading to the boss arena. To get them, return after completing the level and capture a Lakitu.
3 Coins: On the giant gate behind the boss arena electrical wire. Ride a Lakitu to the back-left corner and use the slingshot to reach the top.
3 Coins: Ride the electrical wire up to the top of the pagoda and look around the right side of the rooftop.
3 Coins: At the top of the electrical wire connecting the Showdown Arena to the Beneath the Keep flag, drop down onto the giant gold Bowser face, then jump across the bouncing lanterns.
