Pokemon Sun & Moon: Earn Easy Money With These Pokedex Sidequests

All over the Alola Region, NPCs are looking to expand their Pokedex with a little help from the player in exchange for a few fat stacks of cash. The Pokedex sidequests in Pokemon Sun and Moon are the most common, you’re bound to stumble into one of these job-giving NPCs as you progress through your adventure. These bonus jobs are a great way to earn a little extra cash, and to make life a little easier, we’re going to explain where to find every single one of these Pokedex NPCs.

So, what exactly is a Pokedex sidequest? It’s easy — an NPC, usually in a Pokemon Center, but not always, will want to take a look at a Pokemon entry in your Pokedex. That means you’ll need to capture what they’re looking for and bring the entry back to the NPC. Don’t worry, they don’t take your hard-earned Pokemon, they only want to see the ‘dex entries. In exchange, they’ll dump a load of cash into your inventory. Not a bad trade, right?

Pokedex Sidequests — NPC Locations Guide

To start a Pokedex sidequest, talk to the NPCs at these locations.

Melemele Island

Drifloon Pokedex Quest:
- NPC Location: Hau’oli City, Pokemon Center — Standing near the cafe.
- Reward: $10,000
- Drifloon is found in Hau’oli Cemetery.

Rockruff Pokedex Quest:
- NPC Location: Route 3 — Beneath the berry tree, on the eastern cliffs.
- Reward: $3,000
- Rockruff is found in Ten Carat Hill. Access it after gaining the Tauros Poke Ride.

Cutiefly Pokedex Quest:
- NPC Location: Route 2, Pokemon Center — Standing near the cafe.
- Reward: $3,000
- Cutiefly is found in Route 2/3, and in Melemele Meadow.

Akala Island

Pyukumuku Pokedex Quest:
- NPC Location: Heahea City, Clothing Store — Beneath the register.
- Reward: $10,000
- Pyukumuku is found in Route 7, and on Hano Beach.

Feebas Pokedex Quest:
- NPC Location: Route 5, Pokemon Center — Standing near the cafe.
- Reward: $3,000
- Feebas is found in the waters of Brooklet Hill. Fish or swim to find it.

Stufful Pokedex Quest:
- NPC Location: Route 8, Aether Foundation Building — Back-right corner.
- Reward: $5,000
- Stufful is found around the Akala Outskirts, or in Route 8.

Oranguru / Passimian Quest:
- NPC Location: Konikoni City, Pokemon Center — Standing near the shop.
- Reward: $5,000
- Oranguru (Moon Exclusive) or Passimian (Sun Exclusive) are found in the Lush Jungle.

Ula’ula Island

Alolan Persian Pokedex Quest:
- NPC Location: Malie City, Malie City Library — Standing in the back-left corner.
- Reward: Love Ball
- Only evolves from Alolan Meowth. Alolan Meowth can be found in Route 1/2, in Hau’oli City, or in Malie Garden. Alolan Meowth evolves at Happiness 220 — raise it by feeding beans in Poke Refresh.

Togedemaru Pokedex Quest:
- NPC Location: Malie City, Clothing Store — Main in the lower-left corner.
- Reward: $10,000
- Togedemaru is found on Blush Mountain.

Mimikyu Pokedex Quest:
- NPC Location: Route 16, Pokemon Center — Standing near the cafe.
- Reward: $20,000
- Mimikyu is found inside the abandoned Thrifty Megamart on Route 14.
