With a combined total of 240 000 units sold in Australia and New Zealand, Pokemon Sun and Moon beats the previous record held by Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Sun and Moon no only beats the previous record holder, but also absolutely decimates them as Sun and Moon saw a 67% increase in units sold over the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Sun and Moon has a long way to go if it wants to be the best. Pokemon X and Y; in a combined total; has sold 15.64 million units. But as the saying goes, this is a marathon not a sprint.
