Fortnite: How to Play the Day of the Doom Limited-Time Mode

September 16, 2024 by Lauren Sayles

Which side will come out on top?

Fortnite’s Absolute Doom season is focused around Marvel, so naturally, players have been hoping for the return of a limited-time mode, similar to the ones that have featured in past Marvel seasons. Fans calls have now been answered as Epic Games has announced the Day of the Doom limited-time mode ahead of the upcoming Fortnite update.

It’s worth noting that the loot pool for this particular game mode is yet to be confirmed. If the playlist is going to let players go all out, all the superpowers in the current loot pool could be at the disposal of the entire lobby. This depends on the side that you’re fighting for, of course.

How to play the Fortnite Day of the Doom limited-time mode

This mode will consist of 32 players divided into two teams, Doom’s Henchmen and Allies of the Avengers.

If you’re on the side of Doom’s Henchmen, your goal is to collect six Arcane Artifacts. Once you’ve acquired them all, your adversaries will no longer be able to respawn. Eliminate every hero and you’ll take the match victory.

As for the Avengers side, your objective is to take down Doom’s forces before they collect the Artifacts, essentially going on the defense. Doom’s Henchmen have a large number of respawns and the Avengers come out on top once all the lives of Doom’s Henchmen have been reduced to zero.

To play, find The Day of Doom limited-time mode in Fortnite’s in-game “Discover” page, under the “By Epic” category. Select the playlist and queue into a match either solo or with your friends.

The Day of Doom mode will make its Fortnite debut on September 17, 2024.
