LEGO Fortnite: How to Stop Trees Growing Through Builds

January 9, 2024 by Lauren Sayles

Be gone, pesky trees!

Shortly after Epic Games transitioned fans to the secrets of the Underground with the launch of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 came a LEGO Fortnite survival experience. It was able to break Fortnite player count records as the mode proved extremely popular and has hooked fans ever since. However, players are reporting an issue which causes trees to grow where they’re not supposed to, through builds. Luckily, there is a way to stop those pesky trees from getting in your way in LEGO Fortnite.

Have you ever chopped down a tree in LEGO Fortnite for it to unexpectedly re-appear? If you’ve placed down an item where that tree once was, the chances are that a new tree has grown through your build. At this moment in time, it’s unclear if trees growing through builds is a bug as Epic Games are yet to address player concerns.

How to prevent trees from sprouting through builds in LEGO Fortnite

When you chop down a tree in LEGO Fortnite, it will regenerate and grow back in the same place each time. Although it can be useful to know where to get your wood, sometimes it’s less than ideal.

The first sign of a tree coming back is a sapling growing out of the ground. If you don’t want that sapling to grow into a tree, take your shovel and dig it up. This will stop the tree from growing back and prevent it from obstructing your builds.

If you haven’t crafted a shovel, you can do so by taking the following items to a Lumber Mill:

  • 3 Wooden Logs
  • 1 Wooden Plank

Now you know how to get rid of those unwanted trees in LEGO Fortnite, you can plan your world accordingly.
