All Central Bunker Notes In Amnesia: The Bunker
There are a total of 11 notes found throughout the Central Bucker area of Amnesia: The Bunker. 9 of them being able to be acquired as soon as the starts while the other two are locked away and will require players to visit other areas of the bunker and beyond to gain access to these notes. Below is a full map and breakdown of all of the Central Bunker Note locations.
Note # 1: Amnesia Cause
After the game’s intro where Henri is shown battling in the trenches and rescuing his friend, Lambert, he will awaken in the bunker’s infirmary. Once you gain control of Henri, go through the opening to the right of his bed and look at the desk on the left. The game’s first Note is sitting right on the desk.
Note # 2: Clement’s Journal – Agony
Leave through the door next to the desk and take a right down the hallway. Take the next right and go through the first open door on the left. Inside here is where you can pick up the flashlight and a Note in the slightly open cabinet.
Note # 3: Autopsy of Reynard
Go back out to the hallway and go into the next door on the left. Open the leftmost drawer in the desk to find this Note.
Note #4: Note from Head Clerk re Dog Tags
Now, progress into the game to the point you receive the pistol. Use the pistol to shoot the lock off of a door and go into the next door you see. This will bring you to the Administration Office, which will serve as your Save Room for the whole game. On the desk at the center of the room, you can find the game’s first Dog Tag and this Note.
Note #5: Rats and Burnt Corpses
Facing the desk you just found Note #4 on, turn around towards the door you entered through. Look at the desk to the right. This Note can be found near the center of the table.
Note #6: Keep the light on!
Go down the stairs of the Administration Office to find the Generator room. Go up to the workbench next to the generator and open the left drawer to find this Note.
Note #7: Fuel and Fire
Turn to the right of the workbench to find Note #7 pinned to the wall.
Note #8: How to Get the Hell Out of Here
You can now exit through the second door of the room found opposite the door you entered through. Use the code written on the back of the Dog Tag found on the body next to the Generator. Once in the Central Bunker main hallway, go to the right and find this Note next to the handleless Detonator near the bunker’s exit.
Note #9: Clement’s Journal – No Word
Turn around and take the first right down the hallway. To the right is the Mission Storage room. You can get into this room by pulling the vent off the wall and going through the air duct. Once inside, go up to the lockers at the end of the room. Find the locker with “H. CLEMENT” written on it. Under the locker is this Note.
The last two Central Bunker Notes are found in the lockers of your playable character Clement and his friend Lambert. Both of these lockers require you to find the characters’ dog togs and read the code written on the back. While the codes on the tags are random every playthrough, the tags for these characters are among the ones that will spawn in the same location every single game so it is easy to go and get. Clement’s tag is found on his bed in Soldier’s Quarters while Lambert’s is found outside of the bunker in an area that players will need to progress fairly deep into the game to get.
Note #10: Clement’s Journal – Routine Patrol
Go to the Soldier Quarters area of the bunker and enter Barracks B. The bed at the far end of the right row of bunks has the dog tags of Henri Clements, the playable character, sitting on it. Read the code on the back and then return to Mission Storage.
Enter the code into the locker that you found Note #9 under. This will unlock Clement’s locker, allowing you get the Note that is inside.
Note #11: Lambert’s Journal – Part 2
Lambert’s dog tag is found in the crater seen at the start of the game that he falls into during his patrol. This crater seems to be completely separate from the bunker, but there is a secret connection to this location via the ancient ruins located beyond the Arsenal area.
To gain access to this area, players will need to first need to get the Cutters item located in the Prison to cut the chain that is locking the door. Gameranx has a full guide on how to get the Cutters that can be found linked here. Once the chain cutters are acquired, go to the Arsenal area and go to the Storage Area that players need to crawl into by going under the rubble shown below.
Once in the Storage Area after opening the door with the Cutters, players will find the area completely flooded. To clear out the water, power the machinery found directly to the left of the door. Then, swim to the lever at the far end of the flooded room. Once the machine is one and the lever is flipped into the down position, the water will be drained out. This will open a pathway just beyond the previously mentioned lever. Follow the path that is revealed until ancient Roman columns are seen and then continue until a collection of tables is found near a shallow pool of water. To the right of these tables is a hole in the wall that leads into the ancient tunnels.
Follow the path through the tunnels until a dropdown is found. Once in this lower area, players will need to find a room at the far end of the area. While exploring this area, make sure to avoid or kill Toussaint, a soldier who had lost his mind and is now patrolling the area with a shotgun. There are two doors that lead to the room you’re looking for. One is at the end of the hallway to the right of where the player lands in from the dropdown. The other is in the center room of this lower area. Both these doors lead to the previously mentioned room. The door cannot be unlocked with a key so they will need to be destroyed. This can be done with either a heavy brick or some sort of explosion.
Once in the room, look to the left of the Detonator Handle found in the center of the room. This is where you will find some rubble blocking a hole in the wall. After moving the debris, crawl through the opening. At the end of the crawlspace is the crater from the beginning of the game.
Go through the crawlspace to find the crater that Lambert falls into during the game’s intro. On the shore of the water is where you will find Lambert’s dog tags, next to a Rabbit Toy.
With the code acquired, return to Lamert’s locker and enter the numbers in the dial to open it. Found inside the locker will be the final Note for the Central Bunker.
With all of these now acquired, you will have collected all of the Central Bunker Notes in Amnesia: The Bunker. When you get all the Notes in the game, you will unlock the Librarian Achievement and Trophy! Check out Gameranx’s other guides on where to find the Notes in all of the other areas of the bunker: Officer Quarters, Soldier Quarters, Maintenance, Prison and Arsenal.
