May 10, 2023 by Peter Hunt Szpytek

Steve? Are you still making movies?

Many of the Lost & Found quests in Dead Island 2 result in players finding the corpses of the people they’re searching for and having to pick up the pieces of what went wrong for them. In Missing: Steve, however, it’s a different story.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to complete the Missing: Steve quest in Dead Island 2.

Missing: Steve Walkthrough

In order to access the Missing quests, you’ll need to have progressed through Dead Island 2‘s story until you’ve turned the water back on for the Sterling Hotel in Ocean Avenue at the end of the main mission called “Plumbing the Depths.” Once completed, you’ll have access to the hotel safehouse’s “Missing” board that lists people who’ve gone MIA. Interact with the paper on the board titled “Missing: Steve” to begin the quest.

As soon as you have the request sheet, you’ll learn that Steve was last seen at Monarch Studios. Fast travel to the district and then head to the location marked on the map below:

When you make it to soundstage #3, you’ll be tasked with searching for signs of Steve. Head to the bedroom on the north side of the set and you’ll find a note titled “Steve’s To-Do List.” Pick it up and you’ll discover that he was working on the kitchen set recently.

Head across the sound stage and go to the kitchen set. Investigate the soap on the counter next to the sink, the water bottles to the left of the fridge, the box of food on the floor to the right of the fridge, and the answering machine at the top of the stairs leading behind the set.

Once you’ve investigated all four items, you’ll be led to Jimmy’s trailer. Head to the location marked on the map below:

When you make it to the trailer, open the door to the bathroom and you’ll find a zombie named Sergio. Take it out and then pick up the phone on the ground titled “Sergio’s Phone.” It’ll tell you that Steve went to a house in the Hills.

Fast travel to the Hills and go to the location below:

Once you get there, you’ll find Steve on a balcony. Talk with him and he’ll task you with rounding up three zombies in the surrounding area. Each one is marked on the map so head to their locations and walk them back to Steve’s house. When they get to his patio, kill each zombie.

After they’ve all been killed, talk with Steve and the quest will be complete.
