After a record-breaking Chapter 2: Remix Finale concert, Epic Games are hoping to continue the hype into Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. The season which goes by the name of Hunters, will see you become a Ronin and fight even the darkest forces that are attempting to take over the island. There are a range of new features to familiarize with, including Boons.
If you’re a veteran Fortnite player, Boons can be compared to Augments that were present in previous seasons. Essentially, they are perks based on the elements and once activated, the abilities will remain with you for the remainder of your match.

Where to find Boons in Fortnite
Boons are a unique type of consumable that you can use to gain buffs. The benefits you get from a Boon depends on the kind of Boon you pick up:
- Fire Boon – Reload your weapons faster.
- Void Boon – Eliminating players reveals other players nearby.
- Wind Boon – Move faster while your Pickaxe is equipped.
- Water Boon – Swimming grants Health and Shields to yourself and nearby swimming squadmates.
There are a few ways in which you can secure yourself a Boon. First of all, you can try and loot Elemental Chests which are a special kind of chest that is dotted all around the Chapter 6 Season 1 map. However, it isn’t guaranteed that a Boon will drop from an Elemental Chest.
A more reliable way of getting your hands on a Boon is to return a Sprite to a Sprite Shrine. When you approach and interact with a Sprite Shrine during a match, it’ll show the location of nearby Sprites. Simply grabbing a Sprite and returning it to the Sprite Shrine will award you with a Boon, along with other useful loot.
Finally, defeating a boss has the chance to drop one of the four Boons. The bosses on the island this season are Shogun X, Night Rose, and the Demon Warriors.
No matter what Boon you come across, they are consumed on pickup and you will start feeling their effects instantly.
