December 1, 2024 by Lauren Sayles

Stop the darkness from spreading.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 goes by the name of Hunters and it’s your job to eliminate the evil forces that are on the island. Shogun X is a boss that channels the darkness you need to dispel and here is how to defeat him.

The new Fortnite island is home to just two bosses, Shogun X and Night Rose. Shogun X is a demon warrior who is using his powers to gather spirit energy.

How to defeat Shogun X in Fortnite

The location of the new boss will differ from match to match. However, his location is marked with a unique symbol on your map, allowing you to see where the boss roams at all times.

Before you reach the boss, it’s recommended that you loot up with strong weapons and plenty of bullets because Shogun X shouldn’t be underestimated. The oversized boss is by far one of the most difficult NPCs to fight in Fortnite in recent times. He will use various attacks, such as taking a swipe with a deadly Typhoon Blade, shoot fire at you, dash, and even teleport.

The best way to take out Shogun X is to aim for the head, as this deals the most damage. Also, be sure to stay on the move, as you’ll want to avoid getting hit by the Typhoon Blade and dash attacks at close range, while ensuring you’re dodging the fire that will be propelled towards you.

Shogun X has a huge health bar, so you’ll have to be prepared to spend a chunk of time in combat with him. It’s important to be aware of enemy players who may sneak up on you while you’re distracted by the boss fight, too.

Once you’ve used all your ammunition to finally defeat Shogun X, he will drop three rewards. The first is the Fire Oni Mask, allowing you to launch fire that deals a huge amount of damage. Expect to slash through the battlefield with the Mythic version of the Typhoon Blade, which will see you sprint faster and consume less stamina while doing so. Of course, achieving the victory over a boss will drop a Medallion and Shogun X’s Wanderer Medallion grants infinite stamina and invisibility while sprinting.

Now you know all about Shogun X, you’re ready to go head-to-head with the boss in your next Fortnite match.
