Pokemon Go: How to get Unova Stones

July 31, 2023 by Lauren Sayles

Evolve your Pokemon from the Unova region.

Pokemon Go features a whole host of creatures to add to your Pokedex. A handful of those Pokemon need Unova Stones in order to be evolved (those that are from the Unova region.) If you’re unsure as to how you can get your hands on Unova Stones in Pokemon Go, you’re in the right place.

Unova Stones are half white, half black egg shaped items. There are currently 7 Pokemon that require Unova Stones to be evolved, with Chandelure arguably being he most valuable. This is due to the fact that Chandelure is one of the best Ghosts types available.

How to get Unova Stones in Pokemon Go

You’ll have the chance to obtain Unova Stones when you complete Field Research Breakthrough tasks or take down Team Go Rocket Leaders. If you manage to complete a Field Research task every day for seven days, you’ll be able to open a Field Breakthrough Box which may contain a Unova Stone inside.

Unova Stones are required to evolve the following Pokemon:

  • Pansear evolves into Simisear (Unova Stone and 100 Candy)
  • Panpour evolves into Simipour (Unova Stone and 100 Candy)
  • Pansage evolves into Simisage (Unova Stone and 100 Candy)
  • Minccino evolves into Cinccino (Unova Stone and 50 Candy)
  • Lampent evolves into Chandelure (Unova Stone and 100 Candy)
  • Eelektric evolves into Eelektross (Unova Stone and 100 Candy)
  • Munna evolves into Musharna (Unova Stone and 50 Candy)

As you can see, you’re going to need multiple Unova Stones and a whole lot of Candy, so it will take a while for you to evolve the Pokemon listed above.

That’s all you need to know about how to get Unova Stones in Pokemon Go.
