Destiny 2: Forsaken – How To Find Every Exotic Weapon (So Far) | Exotics Guide

Exotics are one-of-a-kind weapons that we desperately need, and Destiny 2: Forsaken adds a bunch more to an already long list. Along with the new multiplayer mode, two new “planets”, and a bunch of fresh Supers, there are Exotic weapons (and armor) available to collect. There are two ways to get exotics — you can complete Exotic Quests, or get an Exotic in a random reward roll. That only happens if you’re really, really lucky.

One of the first Exotics you’ll be able to get your Guardian’s grubby hands on is Cayde-6’s hand cannon. It’s an essential death-dealer from our main robotic man, and even that comes with an Exotic Quest you need to complete. If you’re confused about Exotic Quests, just check your inventory. Tab right from your Equipment / Character menu, and then select one of the yellow icons. A yellow icon usually means you’re going to get an Exotic reward for completing every step described in the pop-up.

How To Find Every Exotic Weapon (So Far) | Exotics Guide

[Work-in-Progress: There are lots of Exotics to hunt down in Destiny 2: Forsaken, but we’re still searching for them all. Check back later for new updates!]

Ace of Spades

Exotic Quest required. Cayde-6’s old Hand Cannon is the first (and most obvious) Exotic you can acquire in Forsaken. You’ll acquire Cayde’s Will — the Exotic Quest item — as you play through the campaign. To begin the steps, you need to defeat the final boss and return to Banshee.

  • Most of the steps are very straightforward. The only challenging step that isn’t clear is finding Cayde’s secret caches on multiple planets. When you’re near the cache, a message will appear.
    • Cache #1: EDZ – In Firebase Hades, at the entrance through the Sunken Isles passage.
    • Cache #2: Io – In the Wraith Mines.
    • Cache #3: Nessus – Starting from Exodus Black, and go right down and past the teleporter pad.
    • Cache #4: Tangled Shore – At the Jetsam of Saturn, far south.

After finding all the caches, you’ll unlock the “Ace of Spades” story mission. Complete it, and then return to Banshee to get your Exotic Hand Cannon.

Lord of Wolves

Quest reward. Complete Wanted Bounties given by Spider, in Thieves’ Landing on the Tangled Shore.

The Chaperone

Exotic Quest required. The Pursuit item is called “Holiday Family Pursuits” and randomly drops in the Crucible — the quest steps are very straightforward. Just earn Shotgun kills. You’ll need to earn kills with specific elements in the Crucible to reach 100% for all three, and get 15 Guardian kills in Gambit.
