LEGO Fortnite: How to Craft a Driver’s Seat

March 27, 2024 by Lauren Sayles

An important piece to the puzzle.

The Fortnite v29.10 update didn’t just introduce new content to battle royale modes, but LEGO Fortnite, too. After a long wait, players can now make vehicles and take a roadtrip around their world. Before you can access a LEGO Fortnite vehicle, you need to craft all the pieces required and that includes a Driver’s Seat.

As the name suggests a Driver’s Seat is a seat you attach to your vehicle which includes a steering wheel. Just one Driver’s Seat is enough if you play LEGO Fortnite solo, but you can place multiple if you want to hit the road with your friends.

How to craft a Driver’s Seat in LEGO Fortnite

There are three types of Driver’s Seat available to craft, depending on the size of your vehicle. The recipes vary for each type of Driver’s Seat and here are all the ingredients you need.

Small Driver’s Seat:

  • 2 Planks
  • 2 Granite
  • 2 Cords

Medium Driver’s Seat:

  • 3 Planks
  • 2 Granite
  • 2 Cords

Large Driver’s Seat:

  • 4 Planks
  • 2 Granite
  • 2 Cords

To make Planks, you must feed wood through a Lumber Mill. Granite can be obtained by simply breaking stone with your pickaxe.

As for Cords, they’re the most time consuming of the three materials you need to acquire. First, you need to have placed down a Spinning Wheel to unlock the recipe for Cords. Then, you’ll need to collect five Vines for each piece of cord you want to produce. Vines can be harvested from destroying bushes and crops such as pumpkin and corn plants. Once you have enough Vines, take them to a Spinning Wheel and you’ll be able to produce Cords.

The blueprint for a Driver’s Seat can be found in the Toys section of the LEGO Fortnite Build Menu. It must be placed on a vehicle base in order to control and drive your fresh wheels.
