You can’t revisit the scariest location in Resident Evil Village and not get completely freaked out. The ‘Shadow of Rose‘ DLC includes a terrifying escape where you’re chased by a totally new enemy. This section is so terrifying, we’re not surprised if you have no idea what to do — there’s so much more to think about. Like how to avoid the kill dolls chasing you. Here’s a quick rundown explaining every step of the chase sequence.

And the stage isn’t over, even after getting away from the maniac medical doll. In another section, you’ll have to use stealth to sneak past knife-wielding dolls — these encounters play out like mini puzzles. You’ll need to carefully navigate the area, finding the right spots to hide and destroying cores to progress further. We’ve got full walkthroughs for both sections of the House.

How To Escape Living Mannequins | Medical Doll Chase

Deep in the underground Workshop, you’ll have to solve a series of puzzles. After checking the Breaker Box with the key, you’ll encounter a new enemy — living mannequins. They only move when you’re not looking. Check your map and try to memorize how to reach the Bedroom.

Escaping The Mannequins:
- Enter the study to encounter your first mannequin. Look at it and walk backwards into the hallway. Enter the door (now unlocked) and go through the kitchen.
- Sprint into the kitchen and clear the core. Watch the door to stop the doll before it enters, and you can clear the core while looking at it.
- After entering the bedroom, the door will close. You have time now to escape before the mannequin breaks in. Grab the [Fuse] from the wall and turn to face the door.

The lights will go out. Slowly walk past the doll and into the hallway. You’ll need to run back through the hallways, into the Study, and use the elevator fuse box.
- There are more dolls ahead. You’ll need to sprint — run to the kitchen and turn around to stop the two dolls behind you. Then run up the stairs. Another is waiting ahead. Turn the corner and watch all three.
- As you enter the study, stop and watch the last doll to your left. Look away to lure it away from the door, then run by and into the elevator hallway.

The Study door will close, giving you time to place the [Fuse]. Enter the elevator to finally escape this terrifying little sequence.

How To Avoid Dolls | Tiny Rose Stealth Sequence

Next, you’ll drop down into the dollhouse. The area is packed with killer dolls — you’re too tiny to fight. You’ll have to use stealth to avoid them.

NOTE: Dolls can’t detect you through sound, so you can run near them. As long as you don’t get too close or enter their field-of-view which is a glowing white light, they won’t chase you. If you’re caught, you’ll take damage but won’t die. After a short time, you’ll regenerate enough health to move at full speed.

Sneak around the first doll by following it clockwise around the void pillar. Ahead, you’ll reach a void barrier. The core is in the room to the right.

Doll Puzzle #1: In the doll room, go left and avoid the vision of the doll moving left / right. Hide under the desk, then sprint up the ramp. Wait behind the debris until the upper-level doll turns around. Cross over onto the desktop and destroy the core.

Go back into the hallway and approach the core on the ceiling. Destroy it to drop a birdcage, distracting the dolls. By dropping birdcages, you’ll permanently distract the dolls.

Doll Puzzle #2: Ahead, there are too many dolls to sneak past. Hide in the debris alcove in the hallway, then turn around and destroy the core behind you. This causes a cage to drop, distracting the dolls so you can pass. Make sure to stay hidden as they travel to the cage!

Continue into the next large room. This room is packed with dolls guarding a core in the center. We’ll need to distract them.

Doll Puzzle #3: Stay low and sneak up the ramp. Drop down and the dolls will begin to patrol. Sneak right, waiting for the two dolls to pass by, then sprint to each bit of cover until you can get under the desk in the center of the room. Destroy the cover from under the desk to drop a cage, distracting all the dolls in the room.
- Now we can safely destroy the main core in the center of the room, destroying the barrier.

Leave through the doorway with the barrier and take cover as you approach the banging door — a giant mannequin will appear! Hide under the desk and wait for it to stalk past you. Like the dolls, the mannequin can’t hear you. Hide behind the cart and wait for it to walk by, then sprint to the exit door.

Ahead you’ll find [White Sage]. Use it and destroy the patrolling doll and the sentry doll ahead. Another doll is patrolling down the stairs near the trashcan. Follow it from behind — we’ve very close to the bedroom now.

Doll Puzzle #4: Enter the kitchen and grab the extra [White Sage]. Use it to destroy the patrolling doll. As you approach the core, a giant mannequin will burst inside. Hide behind the kitchen island / cart and circle around it to reach the core. If you need to slow it down, use a charge of Rose’s power.
- Once the core disintegrates, you can hide under the metal shelves.

With the path clear, sprint to the bedroom. This leads to an extended chase scene. Run!

Mannequin Chase: Don’t stop running! A giant doll is chasing you down. Run back up the stairs and through the open door.
- Turn around and destroy the core above you to clear the barrier. Act fast before the giant breaks through the door.

And we’ve finally escaped! Mostly. You still have to defeat Eveline next. One short and straightforward chase sequence leads to the boss of this section.
