Monster Hunter: World – How To Unlock Secret Poogie the Pig Costumes | Easter Egg Guide

January 31, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Customize your precious Poogie the Pig with these secret costume locations in Monster Hunter: World.

We’ve already talked about Poogie the Pig and all the weird stuff you can do with him in Monster Hunter: World, but it turns out that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We already knew about the various outfits you could dress this cute mascot up in, but there’s more to this pig than meets the eye.

You can actually unlock secret costumes for Poogie. Incase you missed our earlier guide, let me explain what Poogie is for the uninitiated — Poogie the Pig is a little pig that hangs out in Astera. Get close, and you can befriend the pig with a careful pet. Once Poogie is your friend, you’ll be able to interact with him in a ton of different ways. Many players believe Poogie is a goodluck charm for getting good gear after a hunt — we have no idea if that’s true, but you can absolutely dress up Poogie in secret, unlockable outfits.

To change Poogie’s costume, you’ll first need to become friends with him. Get close and pet him. If you continue to pet Poogie after every quest, hearts will pour out of Poogie. It takes a whole bunch of attempts, but eventually you’ll be able to make Poogie your pal.

When he’s friendly with you, you’ll be able to customize Poogie’s costume. He has a default costume, but there are more. Here’s how to get even more costumes for Poogie.

  • To unlock more costumes for Poogie, you’ll need to pick him up. While carrying Poogie, you’ll feel vibrations — place Poogie down at a vibration and Poogie will dig up an item. In very special spots around Astera, Poogie will dig up an alternate costume instead.

There are multiple locations where you can unlock bonus costumes in Astera with Poogie. Once he’s your friend, pick Poogie up and take him to the following spots. [NOTE: You can only find one costume per visit to Astera. Complete a quest or leave, then return to get more.]

  • White Jammies: Go to the Smart Biologist NPC, left of the Botany area. Take Poogie close to the large stone fossil in the back corner.
  • Hog in a Frog: Stop off at the Botany area and bring Poogie close to the Scoutfly Lamp on the wooden plank in the center.
  • Apprentice Fiver: Place Poogie near the Huntsman / White Flag near the Commander’s large table.
  • Emperor’s New Duds: Take Poogie through the backdoor of the Blacksmith shop, up the stairs, and to the wooden platform hanging off the ledge at the top.

All of these Poogie costumes can be customized with different colors. There’s no real point to dressing up Poogie, but who doesn’t love this little guy?
