One of the most entertaining features in Black Ops 6 multiplayer is dubbed the Meat Shield. It allows you to take an opponent hostage and cause all kinds of chaos as they’re left defenseless. If you want to take an unlucky foe as a Meat Shield in Black Ops 6, this guide will show you how.
Apart from shooting your gun, Call of Duty has provided an array of ways for you to eliminate the opposition over the years. The Meat Shield mechanic is comparable to assassinations, but you don’t kill the enemy player, at least not immediately.

How to use a Meat Shield in Black Ops 6
The Meat Shield isn’t something you’ll be able to pull off in every match, but it’s definitely a fun addition to the game.
Whether they’re moving or are still, you can sneak up behind an opponent while they have their back turned to you and you’ll see two prompts pop up on your screen. One option allows you to perform a finishing move, while the other lets you take your opponent hostage.
Double tap the body shield option which is tied to your melee button (unless you have adjusted your keybinds.) If performed correctly, you’ll then take hold of the enemy player and while they’re in your grasp, proximity chat will activate between you and the hostage, allowing for some hilarious interactions.
While you have the human Meat Shield as an extra layer of protection, you can still move around the map and use your weapon to shoot at other enemies. When you’re done taunting your hostage, you can execute them to finish off the kill.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will hit PC and console storefronts on October 25, 2024. With that being said, the Meat Shield mechanic is present in the beta, so watch your back!
