As if the second map in Metal Gear Survive wasn’t challenging enough, there’s yet another new enemy to deal with in Chapter 17. While exploring north of the FOB, you’ll reach another large Clear Zone where you can breathe freely. It might seem like a reprieve, but if you’re spotted by one of the new Trackers, you’re in deep trouble.
Unlike regular wanderers, Trackers are deadly foes that can follow you anywhere on the map. Their super-jumps send them flying, able to climb tall cliffs and charge up ridiculous spinning kicks that are hard to dodge. Don’t spare the ammo — just shoot these guys before they can give you too much trouble up-close-and-personal. While hunting down the Charon Corps members, you’ll also want to bring some lures. Lures will draw all those super-annoying Grabbers out of hiding.

Objective: Head for the location where the device was detected
Before hitting the yellow objective marker, you’ll probably want to hunt some nearby sheep or zebra – look to the left of the tunnel, or at the cliff’s edge southwest of your FOB.
The objective is located in a large Clear Zone valley that’s swarming with a new enemy type – the Tracker. Bring an Assault Rifle and some extra ammo, because Trackers are worth shooting if they spot you. Equip the Assault Rifle / Sawed-Off Shotgun when they get close, and kill them quickly. Instead of attacking like a normal Wanderer, they use powerful kicks, punches, and super-jumps to chase you anywhere on the map. You can’t easily escape them, and even one is a challenge to kill.
It’s best to try and sneak behind them, then finish them off with a backstab. If they see you, I don’t recommend using close-range weapons. You can distinguish them from normal Wanderers by the crystal spiked protrusion on their face.
We can’t reach the Transporter yet. Sneak down into the valley and use a lure bottle to trick the swarm of Grabbers out of their hiding spots. You can sneak by and reach the ramp-like cliffs leading up to the objective marker – it’s a metal gate that leads into a structure.
Pick the lock, and you’ll get a cutscene. A member of the Charon Corps is alive! But he isn’t too friendly – and his presence makes the Captain’s arm glow mysteriously. Weird. But the important part is you’ve found a member of Mother Base! You’ll have to carry him to the nearest Transporter.
Stay on the ledge and carefully drop down toward the canyon with the destroyed bridge. To the right, there’s a path to the waterfall river with a metal ramp you can use to reach the other side. Sprint to the Transporter base and get it started.
Again, you’ll want to place your castaway somewhere safe after starting the transporter time. It’s a short one – only a minute. Place a single normal fence and defense the spot against the nearby Wanderers to bring an end to this initially challenging mission. You’ll want to return to the base later and pick up the large container and other awesome materials later.
