Metal Gear Survive Walkthrough | Chapter 12 - Rescue The Cop

The hill where you’ll find the Transporter outpost is surrounded by zombies. Drop your castaway somewhere safe and prep for a fight.

Base Camp is getting pretty busy in Metal Gear Survive. We have an XOF soldier, a nurse, and a kid — you can add a cop to the list as we take on another rescue mission in Chapter 12. You’ll have to navigate the far northeast corners of the map, sneak through an empty town, and fight through a small horde of Wanderers, but it’s worth it. You’ll finally find some awesome recipes.

Don’t miss the large containers in the village. In Chapter 13, the village south of Transporter 10 is labeled “Singularity Area 02” — and it is packed with powerful recipes. Inside the village square, there’s a recipe for 5.56 ammo and an assault rifle. You’ll also find an enhanced spear, but there’s no way to build it until we reach Map #2. Best of all is the placeable machine gun turret. Find that in a wrecked convey almost directly south, down the hill from Transporter 10 in the Dust. You don’t want to miss it.

Objective: Locate and rescue castaway

Things are starting to get more interesting at Base Camp. Now that the little kid Chris has a wheelchair, you’ll be able to assign him to a crew – including the new Exploration Team. To take advantage of this crew, construct the Exploration Team Ready Room. Eventually, you’ll be able to collect enough castaways to populate the Exploration Crew. From the Ready Room, you can deploy soldiers on Deployment Missions for big rewards.

Water Source Warning: At this point, the water around your base camp will dry up. Make sure you construct multiple Rainwater Collectors and Water Purifiers. You’ll earn plenty of water over time. If you need more water, teleport to Transporter bases and raid dirty water from the sinks.

The objective for this chapter is another lost castaway, located far north of Transporter 09. The trek is the most dangerous part of this chapter. Go hunting, bring plenty of food, and return to Ruins 02 if you need more medical supplies. Try to stick to the road – it’s easy to get lost this far north.

If you stay on the marked roads, your map will still work. While in the Dust, your map navigation is severely limited, it won’t show you where you are in the area. Stay on the road and you’ll keep a marker on your map.

To reach the castaway, you’ll have to navigate a large village. Stay low and you can sprint through, escaping most of the wanderers. You’ll also want to check out the farm in the village – you can find corn here! Grab it so you can plant more gardens in your base.

Through the village, go up the hill to a Clear Zone where the castaway is located. Pick him up at the crashed car, and carry him to the inactive Transporter base in the same Clear Zone. The base is completely surrounded by wanderers, so move to the side and carefully sneak into the base. Place walls around the two openings, and start clearing all the wanderers outside. Build strong walls at both main entrances, hold off the incoming wanderer attacks, and you’ll have one more chapter complete.
