To buy the best gear in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, you’ll need millions of dollars. By Chapter 6, when you finally have access to most of the Hawaii map, you’ll probably only have about 5,000 dollars in your pocket. But, if you grind through the Dondoko Island sidestory, you can earn hundreds of thousands extremely early in the story. By following these steps, you can earn 50,000 bucks per guest run. With that kind of cash, you can buy endgame weapons very early – making the rest of the game a breeze.
Mastering Dondoko Island takes a lot of work, so here’s a quick rundown of what you need to know. If you need more help with Dondoko Island, just check our other guides for a full rundown on how to complete each section of this massive side-quest. Let’s get started. Here’s how to earn lots of cash.

Method #1: Dondoko Farm
The first method is available as soon as you gain a 2-Star Resort. At this point, you’ll also unlock the Dondoko Farms area. At this additional island, you’ll be able to assign your Sujimon to different facilities to earn materials, grow vegetables, level up or collect Dokobucks. Dokobucks are what we’re after here. Use the Workshop Facility and assign three Sujimon to the longest activity. The Mastercrafting Course takes 60 minutes to complete and will earn you 300,000 Dokobucks. That translates to 3,000 dollars when you convert to USD.
You can assign Sujimon of matching types for a chance to earn more cash, or you can assign trash Sujimon – you will always earn the 300,000 payout. While this isn’t a lot of money later in the game, early on this is a massive bounty and extremely easy to collect. Just assign the Sujimon and wait. You don’t have to play, just wait for the project to complete and collect. Or you can farm in different ways.
Method #2: Hunting Gold Sharks
Get the 3-Star Resort and you’ll be able to build a bridge to the Lake Island. This project costs 200,000 Dokobucks, and it’s worth it. The Lake Island is packed with valuables for further upgrading your resort, but there’s one secret we’re after. Rarely in the fishing spot on the Lake island bridge, a Gold Shark will spawn. You can see which one is the Gold Shark based on the size and how fast it swims. The biggest fish that swims ridiculously fast is the Gold Shark.
Gold Sharks sell for 70,000 Dokobucks and catching more of them raises the price. Catch 5 and you’ll start to earn 100,000 Dokobucks per sale. You can raise the price to a maximum of about 130,000 Dokobucks. The Gold Sharks appear about 50% of the time, but rarely you’ll encounter two in the same fishing spot. We’ve only spotted Gold Sharks in this single fishing spot, but they’re worth checking daily for the huge payout. 100,000 Dokobucks translates to 1,000 dollars when converted. That’s amazing for about a minute of work. But there’s an even better way to make money.
Method #3: Selling Love Hotels
The final method will help you score 10,000 dollars in a matter of minutes. Run all three days with guests and you can push those numbers up to 50,000 dollars or more. With a maximum capacity resort with everything running smoothly and daily farming, I’m sure you could push that number to 100,000 per run. That much cash is basically unheard of in Chapter 6, but you can start collecting.
The trick is to boost your Building Skill. By crafting items, you’ll level up and unlock more Do-It-Yourself projects at the workbench. Keep going until you unlock the Love Hotel. This is the most valuable structure that’s also relatively easy to construct – there are more valuable structures, but you can’t easily farm the materials needed. The Love Hotel only requires infinitely renewable resources, so we’re sticking with that.
Purchase and place all the facilities from the main shop that increase your daily Collection Area rewards. You can build dumping areas and benches that increase your total – you’ll want to buy all of them. With a 5-Star Resort, you’ll unlock even more resource facilities from the main shop. They’re expensive but worth it. Once you’ve bought the maximum and placed them, you’ll earn essentially infinite resources by checking the Collection Area daily.
Collect your daily resources until you have a stockpile. You can go to bed early to end days faster and collect more resources easier. No need to actually break rocks or trees anymore. Once you have enough resources, construct Love Hotels. You can build one per day or build three after saving up. Each sells for about 330,000 Dokobucks. Sell three and you’ll have about 1 million Dokobucks. That 1 million Dokobucks can be traded for 10,000 dollars. If you grind for a few in-game days, you can collect 5 million Dokobucks and trade for 50,000 dollars. Do this while taking care of A or S Rank guests in S Rank lodgings, and you’ll collect an additional 200,000 Dokobucks and 10,000 dollars at the end of each three day period. That’s even more money to mess around with.
Follow all these methods and you’ll be rolling in cash. By the end of my Dondoko Island adventure, I had well over 500,000 dollars. I started with less than a thousand. While money becomes steadily easier to find in later chapter, you’ll still struggle to bank that much. If you’re looking for an easy way to grind to the top very early in the game, this is how to do it.
