The Blacksmith Blues 3 side quest becomes available after completing the Like Father, Like Daughter main quest that has Clive investigate Mid’s dungeon and then open up the orchestrion. Blacksmith Blues 3 Quest Guide
After speaking with August, he’ll tell you that he is, once again, worried about Blackthorn the blacksmith and that he wants Clive to speak to him about it. Go to Blackthorn after the conversation is over and he’ll tell you that he’s bothered after seeing the work of another blacksmith that he used to apprentice with. He’ll tell you that the blacksmith lives in Dravozd, a city in Dhalmekia. The three of you agree to go to the city to pay the blacksmith a visit.
Fast travel to the Tabor Obelisk in Dhalmekia and then head to the marked location on the northeast side of the Fields of Corava. When you get there, speak with August at the gate and, once Blackthorn arrives, the three of you will be let inside the town.
Once inside, head up the stairs in the center of town and speak with the man wearing a beige and blue sash, Zoltan the man from Blackthorn’s stories. He’ll tell you to leave, but when you return to Blackthorn and August, they’ll suggest making a forge that’s more efficient than the one Zoltan is currently using. In order to make the forge, however, Blackthorn says that he needs salamander leather. Luckily, there’s one nearby.
Head into the Fields of Corava and follow the marker to the center of the area. Here, you’ll find a salamander that you’ll need to kill. It has a moveset that’s nearly identical to the Wyverns you’ve fought previously, so it shouldn’t be much trouble for you. Take care to avoid its fireball attack since, unlike the Wyverns you’ve fought, it’ll shoot several fireballs in a row, not just one. After taking out the salamander, return to Dravozd.
Hand over the salamander skin to Blackthorn and you’ll see a scene where the Dravozd citizens marvel at the efficiency of the forge Blackthorn made. At the end of the scene, Zoltan will give you a Pit-coal Cinder for Blackthorn. Fast travel back to the Hideaway and give the coal to Blackthorn.
After giving it to him, he’ll give you the Ouroboros Design Draft, a crafting recipe for one of the best belts in the game. Unfortunately, you’ll need to get the components needed to make the belt before it’s yours, but it’s a solid piece of armor to work toward.
