There are new toys to play with and new enemies to fight in Chapter 10 of Metal Gear Survive. Vehicles are a rare commodity in Dite, and you’ll finally get a useful one that doesn’t break down after driving around for five minutes — the Walker Gear returns. This one is packed with heavy weaponry too.
In Chapter 10, we’re going deep into the Dust to find a missing kid. He’s trapped on a hill in a Clear Zone, surrounded by a totally new enemy type — the Watchers. These creepy flying bugs have projectile weapons, and they like to swarm around in unpredictable patterns. You’ll need the Walker Gear to shoot them down, or you can always use a conveniently placed gun turret.

Objective: Investigate the distress signal
At the start of the chapter, there’s really no objective – leave the base, and you’ll quickly get a distress call. Miranda, the nurse, has left the safety of Base Camp in search of a distress call.
Travel to Transporter 06 to prepare for a rescue – before entering the yellow mission area, stop at the blue “Walker Gear has washed up” side-quest area. There’s a large container in the small base with a Decoy recipe. Grab the Walker Gear, and use it to fight through the huge horde of Wanderers.
Don’t waste too much time killing. You’ll need the ammo for later. Just run down the road toward the yellow zone. The distress signal is actually located in a Clear Zone. On the hill beneath the small village, you’ll find a large container with a Goat Cage recipe.
The real threat surrounding the distress call are the Watchers. They’re small, flying creatures that target your character with a bright red laser light – the Watchers are deadly, and you’ll want to bring a Gear Walker to fight the swarm. The Walker’s minigun will make short work out of the Watchers, but without a gun in your inventory, these things can be really, really annoying.
Sneak up the hill to the source of the distress beacon. There’s a kid inside, and once again you’ll have to carry this survivor to a nearby Transporter base. The hill between you and the transporter is littered with wanderers and watchers – don’t even try to fight them. You can sprint down the hill to the camp and start the Transporter. The uneven terrain will trip up any wanderers that try to chase you.
Drop the kid off in an interior room and start the Transporter. It only takes a minute and a half, but you won’t need to block any of the exits – most of the danger comes from the hill. Mount up on the turret and shoot down the incoming watchers floating down the hill toward your Transporter. Wanderers will also spawn from the opposite gate, but your gun should be plenty to take down any threat.
Return to Base Camp with your new recruit. Reeve will also return with Miranda, so your staff is safe – but we’ll have to take care of them in Chapter 11.
