Fortnite often reflects real life events within the game’s various layers. Whether that’s through crossovers with pop culture, or representing cultural traditions, there are similarities between the virtual and real world at times. The return of Lantern Fest has brought a new experience to Fortnite for this year’s celebration.
The main event takes place in Fortnite’s Creative experiences with a dedicated Lantern Festival island. Additionally, various skins are returning to the item store, so you can dazzle the competition.

Celebrate Lantern Festival 2025 in Fortnite
The new Desert vs Sea – Lantern Fest 2025 island will have you choose between team Desert and team Sea. Compete in battles against the opposing side with the objective of earning more eliminations than the other team. As you play, you will gain access to powerful abilities such as Double HP (200 HP total,) Double Damage, and Invisibility. Players who are familiar with Red vs Blue will know exactly what to expect here, with the addition of abilities providing a new gameplay dynamic.
The map contains a second-floor area where unique puzzles known as Sandstorm Riddles await to test your Fortnite knowledge.
The island code for Desert vs Sea is 7286-4717-1963. Simply type that in when you navigate to the Discover tab and the map will pop up. The map will continue to be available after the Lantern Festival comes to an end.
That’s not all that Lantern Festival 2025 has to offer in Fortnite as bundles will allow you to look the part. The Noorah Outfit and Lunar Lantern Back Bling and Anwar Outfit and Moonlit Blades Back Bling will be in the item shop individually and as part of the Radiant Moon Bundle starting March 6, 2025 at 7pm ET. Later on, the SpiderGamer Locker Bundle will spring into action, along with the BanderitaX Locker Bundle, Power Shong Locker Bundle, and SirSanX Locker Bundle.
Those that enjoy the competitive side of Fortnite can take part in the Lantern Fest Cup. This is a solo battle royale tournament that takes place on March 8, 2025, where the players who earn the most points in each region will unlock the Noorah Outfit, Anwar Outfit, Lunar Lantern Back Bling, and Moonlit Blades Back Bling for free.
