Pokémon Go Wild Area will begin on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10am local time with a focus on Poison and Electric-type Pokémon. The event is packed with all kinds of rewards, new encounters, and will feature GO Safari Balls for the very first time.
GO Safari Balls are dressed for the occasion, sporting a camouflage look. They’re expected to be a great fit for catching even the strongest Pokémon, but they’ll only be around for a limited-time. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about getting your hands on GO Safari Balls as you explore what the Wild Area has to offer.

How to get GO Safari Balls in Pokémon Go
All players will receive a Timed Research task during the event that awards a small number of GO Safari Balls upon completion. Also, there are opportunities to acquire GO Safari Balls when spinning Photo Discs at PokéStops during the event, but this will be rare.
To get access to more GO Safari Balls, you can purchase an Extra Access Ticket. This goes for $2.00 USD (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) and you’ll receive event-exclusive hourly Timed Research. One Timed Research task will go live every hour during the event and it awards four additional GO Safari Balls. These tasks will expire one hour after they are released, so make sure you claim your GO Safari Balls before time runs out.
Keep in mind that all unused GO Safari Balls will expire and disappear from your Pokémon Go item bag at 6:15pm local time each day of the event. Use them up before time runs out, so your hard work doesn’t go to waste!
Apart from looking good, GO Safari Balls are extremely effective and will make catching the various Pokémon you come across easier. In fact, the team behind the mobile game even recommend using them against mighty Pokémon.
An Extra Access Ticket is available to purchase now from the Pokémon Go webstore.
