Fortnite: How to get the Lock On Pistol

January 10, 2024 by Lauren Sayles

Stealthily returning from the vault.

Epic Games kicked off the New Year by shaking up the loot pool. FlowBerry Fizz made its debut as a new healing option, alongside a fresh Enforcer assault rifle. Evidently, the developers have been digging around in the vault too, as a familiar face has stealthily made its way back into the loot pool. The Lock on Pistol is back in Fortnite and if you’re eager to get your hands on it, we’ve got all the details.

The Lock On pistol is an extremely powerful weapon to have in your inventory. As the name suggests, when you aim down sight, the pistol will lock on to your opponent and even track their movement. It is fast-firing, allowing you to deal some serious damage to anyone that is unfortunate enough to fall within its crosshair.

Where to find the Lock On pistol in Fortnite

Since the Lock On pistol has been added to the general loot pool, it can be found in chests, supply drones, and even dotted around the island as floor loot. However, according to FNAssist, the Lock On pistol is most commonly found in fishing spots. Strangely, the weapon has a 15% spawn rate from fishing spots, compared to a 7% spawn rate from the other aforementioned methods of obtaining it.

Fishing spots are located almost anywhere where there is open water. There should be a barrel containing fishing rods near areas where you can fish. All you have to do is throw a fishing rod into a fishing spot and pull it back when you catch something. Keep in mind that while you’re fishing, you’ll be left defenseless and out in the open, so be aware of your surroundings.

Now you know how to get a Lock On pistol in your next Fortnite match.
