Lords of the Fallen: How To Beat The Sacred Resonance of Tenacity

October 27, 2023 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Resolve the crush this resonance.

The spooky Bell Rise is an unofficial location in Lords of the Fallen — the only reference to it you’ll find is a map, but it is an area all the same. The area can be unlocked extremely early in the game, and if you visit right away, you’ll be shocked by the difficulty of the standard enemies here. Everything in Bell Rise is designed for higher level characters. I recommend waiting until after you’ve discovered the second beacon at least — maybe even the third beacon.

Whether you decide to wait or not, your Dark Crusader will encounter a challenging boss blocking the way to the upper levels of Mournstead. The Sacred Resonance of Tenacity is a bell-wearing fanatic with holy devotion and a very strange boss arena. There’s a lot to talk about here, especially if you want to explore the area early. This boss is possible to defeat very early in the game, so here’s what you need to know before attempting it.

Sacred Resonance of Tenacity | Boss Guide

Location: To find the Sacred Resonance of Tenacity, purchase the Pilgrim’s Perch Key from an NPC in Skyrest Bridge. Travel to the Bellroom Vestige and unlock the door here with the Pilgrim’s Perch Key. Follow the passage through the caves, out into a cliffside scaffolding path, then back into the caves. Climb the ladder — through another tunnel, you’ll reach the boss arena.

  • NOTE: Right outside the boss arena, you can find an Umbral Flowerbed.

Dealing With The Arena: Entering the boss arena, you’ll encounter multiple protected Pilgrim enemies in the center of the arena. Lure the boss away — a giant hammer-wielding man — and then rush into the center cage. Use your lamp to destroy the parasite in the center.

  • Once the parasite is destroyed, exit the cage, lure the boss away, then clear the Pilgrims from the arena. Don’t bother fighting the boss until the Pilgrims are dead.

When the arena is clear, you can focus on the boss.

Fighting The Boss: The boss has high health but an extremely limited attack set. Even when he begins charging his hammer with Holy power, his attacks remain the same. Take it slow and watch his attacks. Learn when to attack and you can systematically defeat this boss.

The bell-wearing boss attacks with slow, heavy swings of his weapon. You can bait out his attacks by staying in medium range, just outside his normal melee attack range. If you do, he’ll constantly try to attack with his three-swing combo or his vertical two-hit ground slams. If he slams the ground hard a second time, he’ll need to recover.

  • When he lurches forward in a dash and swings his hammer horizontally, he’ll always pause, giving you time to attack.

Play patiently, dodging his attacks and waiting for his opening. Staying in medium range, he’ll only use melee attacks. If you get extremely close to him, he’ll use his magical area-of-effect blast. If he hammers his bell, he’s about to launch an extremely fast blast that emanates from his bell. You’ll have to block or dodge forward through it. It’s so fast, immediately dodge forward after hits his bell three times.

Learn his attacks, and this boss isn’t too difficult. The hard part is overcoming all the challenges in the arena without dying, then methodically fighting the boss. Defeating the boss will give you access to an even more difficult region of the map called the Manse of the Annointed Brothers. This is an area you’ll want to save for much, much later.

Don’t rush. Clear the room of enemies, destroy the Umbral Parasites that protect the enemies and heal the boss. When the area is clear, circle the main area and attack when you have an opening. Because this fight can take a while. Grab extra Briostone and use them when he’s very low on health and you’re confident you can win.
