#25. WW2 Zombies: Shadowed Throne – How To Play Hangman & Earn Bonus Rewards | Secrets Guide
My personal favorite secret from a Zombies map. In ‘The Shadowed Throne’ map for Call of Duty: WW2, you were stuck in the ruins of Berlin. In one of the destroyed streets, you could find the large neon letters of a cabaret theater. By shooting the letters outside, you’d begin an impromptu game of hangman. Even better, anyone could play — and the mini-game is 100% disconnected from the Easter egg quest, so it isn’t even required. Just a fun extra.
#26. Vampyr: How To Solve The Temple Church Puzzle | ‘Bloody Roots’ Guide
The deepest, darkest secret of Vampyr is located in the underground of Temple Church. And I’m still not quite sure the ‘correct’ way to solve this mysterious puzzle. Near the end of Vampyr, you encounter a strange man that claims to be the leader of a secret society that studies vampires under a cathedral. By following secret steps, it’s possible to unlock a hidden room in this catacomb and earn yourself a powerful secret sword — along with more lore dating back to Rome. There’s even a Jesus connection. Now that’s a secret conspiracy.
#27. Destiny 2: Forsaken – Paul McCartney Returns In This Hilarious Lost Sector | Easter Egg Guide
Bungie had to show fans it was lightening up. In what seems like a (slightly) cruel joke, Paul McCartney’s bizzarely earnest ‘theme song’ for Destiny 1 appears in a Lost Sector in Destiny 2: Forsaken. Just the fact that this song exists and plays in a seedy Fallen bar is, itself, a joke. You can listen to the whole thing above.
#28. Friday the 13th: The Game – Use the Konami Code To Unlock “Cheats” | Easter Egg Guide
Finally, we reach the end of our list with a classic. The Konami Code reemerges, and one of its best modern uses appears in Friday the 13th: The Game. By inputting the Konami Code, players got a glimpse at a ‘Coming Soon’ feature in the cabin. A door would become accessible, revealing a spooky sci-fi room, and hulking sci-fi Jason. Yes, Jason X was going to be playable.
Unfortunately, Jason X never came to light due to legal disputes. That makes this Easter egg a fascinating curio in the dustbin of video game history.
And that’s our list — there are way, way more Easter eggs we didn’t list here. Check out the archives and links in each article, or just watch our guides. There are going to be even more Easter eggs in the near future. It is inevitable.
