The Black Armory DLC for Destiny 2: Forsaken adds a whole bunch of new weapons for you to find. The main activity, unlocking the forges and fighting waves of enemies with your friends, is pretty difficult even if you’ve reached the required Power Level. It’s also the primary method for acquiring most of the Black Armory loot, including a few Exotics. Well, there are better ways to farm for those Black Armory weapons — and you don’t even need to touch the forge activities at all.
It’s all about hunting down bosses in standard zones. It can take a very long time, and you’ll need to level up quite a bit, but this method can be done solo. No need to wrangle friends and complete the forges over and over again. This method can also net you Powerful Engrams, so you might just get better armor / gear while you’re hunting down those rare Black Armory guns.

The Easiest Way To Farm Black Armory Weapons | Farming Guide
The trick to farming Black Armory weapons is finding the Black Armory Saboteurs in the EDZ and Nessus. These are bosses that spawn in regular zones — they’ll drop Black Armory weapons, and sometimes Powerful Engrams when they’re defeated. The EDZ Saboteurs start at PL 605, so you’ll need to be able to damage them before you can begin farming.
- To defeat a Saboteur, take down the shields supplied by the tiny drones. They’ll re-up the shields whenever you stop doing damage.
- The Saboteurs are very, very powerful. Stay on the move or they can kill you quickly.
There are four Saboteurs total. After defeating one, travel to the next one and see if it spawns. Here’s a quick list of all the locations.
- EDZ – Outskirts: Near the bridge in the southeast corner.
- EDZ – The Gulch: In the middle of the swamp, just down the hill from the landing platform.
- Nessus – Artifact’s Edge: You can’t miss him in this tiny zone.
- Nessus – Hallows: In the underground, near the entranceway by the stream.
Each Saboteur is a different enemy type. The easiest way to identify a Saboteur is by the bubble shield around them, and the tiny drones encircling them. They’ll always have drones and a bubble shield to protect them.
This is not exactly the fastest or more efficient way to farm Black Armory weapons, but it is the easiest to do solo. You can also do this with a team, but the team isn’t required. You’ll find help from nearby Guardians (usually) — whenever you enter one of the areas, look and see if there are any Guardians. They’ll be waiting for the bosses, just like you.
